Rishi Sunak - and his miserly Government

The Government could make the argument that since Section 35 is completely legit its not an attack on democracy.

However as always in politics perception is reality, most people will have never of heard of Section 35 & known that it was a constitutionally legit route for the UK government to take all they will see is a block on the will of Scotland's parliament. Add this to the Supreme Court decision & it starts to put together a narrative about Scotland's role in the UK that is beneficial to the independemcd movement and may help to swing those on the fence.

It will be interesting to see what Labour do, Starmer scrapped Labour's self identification plans in his bid to pull the party out of getting bogged down in the culture wars, a move that regardless on how you may view it morally was politically prudent as the country is socially to the right of Labour.

Support Scotland over The GRB & he may put Labour back into the culture mess, refuse to back them & it would damage Labour's hopes of rehabilitation north of the border.

what is the general consenus on the law up there anyway ?

i can understand the reasoning for using section 35 in the case as it would effect stuff UK wide

i can see its a flawed law in some aspects mainly age wise and might do a lot of damage in the long run and certain safeguards not in place to protect
