Whether it happens or not Switzerland vs Austria would be a hell of a semi final

Would be nice to see a new name on the trophy, though I suspect Germany now will take some stopping even if they only won 2-0, but I think Switzerland on that performance aren't far behind either.

As for England - We have to raise our game level today one way or another. Slovakia, I suspect will be well up for it and the thought of beating us will be a huge motivation, and if they do beat us, it'll be a huge scalp for them. Southgate has to go for broke, let the players off the leash Gareth!!

Poor Denmark must feel robbed after their dodgy defeat by Germany.
English referee Michael Oliver's taken abuse for the decisions but he's only followed the rules given to him.

Only change is mainoo instead of Gallagher whats the point of having so many players if he wont rotate the fucking squad then will moan that they didnt have experience when we need to play them and they go out

I had this wild theory last night, which is almost certainly wrong and ludicrous, but still fun to think about…

The criticism of Southgate has always been that he constructs teams that beat the minnows and cruise through qualifications and group stages, but fall to pieces, lose their composure, and abandon all shape and discipline as soon as they meet a high quality side.

What if this time he decided to set the team up as if every opponent were Germany or France? It looks faintly ridiculous and frustrating when they play deep and defensively against sides that aren’t really pressing them, but they’ll be a disciplined, balanced, well-drilled machine when they come up against a big side.

I call it the Mr Miyagi Strategy. Serbia was paint-the-fence. Denmark was wax-on / wax-off. And Slovenia was sand-the-floor. Now we are ready for the All Valley Karate Championship.
