Battlefield 1
I've never really been much of a fan of the Battlefield series in the past. And I did play The Battlefield 1 beta and didn't like that either But I've been coerced into buying it by a friend, to give it a proper try, and now I'm actually really starting to enjoy this game.
Project Cars 2
I'm still not a huge fan because I feel the game is unfinished, but it is starting to grow on me and I'm managing to find my way around some of the changed driving physics.
I've just ordered the steelbook edition of GT Sport from Amazon. It includes a few extra bits and pieces.

RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating
Fifa 18 (PS4);
For me Fifa 14 (PS4) has been the most revolutionary/best Fifa of the current generation of consoles with a continuous downward trend in every yearly update since (in other words getting worse). So much so I would say that Fifa has been resting on it's laurels over the last few years by offering just yearly updates with very little changes & no real improvements because no matter what the game will sell by the bucket load whilst rival game PES barely sells (which is a shame).
I was suitably impressed with the Fifa 18 (F18) demo that came out a few weeks before the initial game itself in which I thought was a marked improvement on last years rather lacklustre Fifa 17 offering, however on release date of F18 I held off paying the extortionate £50 price & waited a few weeks & managed to pick the game up for £40.
The games presentation as always is top drawer with a pretty good soundtrack & with the commentary team of Martin Tyler & Alan Smith games do have that Sky Sports feel about them.Gameplay wise there is a lot to do in either single of multiplayer from Skill Games,The Journey to the so-called Fifa's jewel-in-the-crown Ultimate Team.
For anyone not familiar with the concept of Ultimate Team is where you can buy, sell players from pretty much every world league to create your Ultimate Team to compete against other players teams or complete game challenges.Players can be bought & sold with in-game currency which you can obtain by winning games & competitions (What I do) or BUY in-game currency with cash which opens the debate about loot-boxes & micro-transactions which Fifa games is one of the worst of its kind.
The main problem with Ultimate Team is that whilst it's a good idea in concept but it is to be blunt 'a complete con' to play if you want to get anywhere & buy the best players in the game.
Packs (Bronze,Silver,Gold) can be bought or won in the game which have players, contracts, kits etc & in all honestly is virtually impossible to get players of the ilk of Lui Suarez,Messi,Ronaldo etc in any packs. The only way realistically to obtain such players is to buy in-game currency & buy them in auctions meaning this game pretty much wants you to fork out extra money on this game even after you've paid the retail price if you want to progress & compete against other players online.Messi & Ronaldo cost approx £40-£50 to buy in cash terms.
Gameplay & pitch-wise the game plays a pretty good attacking game of football, the shooting seems better where there is more chance of scoring 25-30 yard screamers which is all well & good but what effectively drives a stake through the games heart is that the defending & tackling is absolutely appalling. The defending is so bad it makes the game at times a chore to play where inept defending (& AI) creates huge spaces for attacking teams to exploit. The standing tackle has been rendered useless letting players run rings around you,it seems as if the games developers thought 'we'll make the game more attacking by making the games defence so fucking useless' which in terms makes games high scoring matches instead of hard fought scorelines winning by the odd goal.(Just of note I'm commenting as someone who has an online record of 57 wins 2 losses & not someone who is shit at the game with a grievance).
Pitch-wise other game negatives are;crosses/corners are again poor, players can get knocked off the ball & injured far too easily (I played a match where 5 players got injured in the same game),unrealistic scorelines, dodgy referee decisions.
The only real saving grace & the best part of F18 is the return of The Journey which Alex Hunter returns in the RPG element of the game.
Overall F18 is a good game let down with poor in-game defending making matches a lot less fun to play.If they had just offered Fifa 14 with updated teams/kits I'd be happy but unfortunately it's another adaption where clearly the creators haven't listening to past criticism & just carried on regardless by offering the same-old,same-old.7/10 (half a point added for The Journey).
PS;Whilst it's content light compared to Fifa (& no official kits) PES 2018 whilst not perfect is the better footballing game this year (Phewww).
Apologies for the long-winded post but to quantify games like Fifa 18 becomes more like writing an essay given the details to include.

I love fire pro wrestling!!
At least with that you can get wrestling collection harking back to the days world of sport wrestling via the Steam workshop. If there is draw back for me it is the fact the game only has two weight divisions (junior & Heavy) and can handle pretty well 8 wrestlers in the ring at a time, but the amount of workshop items available more than makes up for that plus some interesting fight modes include gruesome fighting (which is the MMA)
I have WWE2K17 haven't played it for a while but feel the one thing that wasn't working well for me was the submission controls found that control a hard one & frustrating to get right to escape & I doubt it is now better in the new game. the first wrestling game I ever played was rock n wrestle on the old Spectrum & even that was hard!! But tbh I don't think I played another wrestling game until I played THQ's 'RAW' & a little 'Celebrity Death Match' which I felt then RAW was one of the best wrestling games around for PC (and you could create your own wrestlers too then, don't think you could with 'CDM') until 2K came along. I'd very much like to see 2K delve into MMA territory and give EA's UFC title a good run for their money, if they can get the mechanics right I reckon they could come with a suitable PC alternative.
Having seen trailers for both PES18 & FIFA18 I don't think I'll be investing much further with either title I think on looks alone both look good but I am pretty sure the same problems that exist in both games continue.
