I loved this article and the one that appeared in today's Mirror. I do feel sorry for Darron Gibson as he's most probably a decent bloke and this must all be very embarrassing for him on a personal level. However, who actually put a gun to his head and forced him to open a Tw@ter account?
He will have done so of his own accord, in an effort to make himself more popular and to enhance his celebrity status etc or whatever all these footballers open Tw@ter accounts for.
I actaually have to suffer watching the likes of him, Jonny Evans, John O'Shit, Michael Carrick, Bebe, Gabriel Obertan etc, none of whom in my opinion are worthy of wearing the shirt. Seeing as many of those who have posted a few honest truths on a public social networking site about the account holder actually contribute to his wages and have the best interests of Manchester United Football Club at heart, I'd say they have every right to express their views on this useless one-trick-pony who has a good long-range shot but next to nothing else in his repertoir.
I don't care for abusing players whilst they're playing in a match as this is counter-productive and affects the team as a whole, but if Darron Gibson, or any other player for that matter, opens up a window of opportunity for fans to communicate with him then he has to be prepared to take the rough with the smooth, doesn't he?
Darron Gibson is shit, full stop, and if
a) it wasn't for the fact it can be construed as a negative United story, and
b) if he wasn't Irish then I doubt you'd have enclosed the mindless idiots quote at the end! It's not like those fans have murdered anyone is it? Now that would've been mindless!
As this is a reply to my post i take it everything you've said is directed at me and an effort to call me out. Just this once i'll take the bait
.....
In between the two points i highlighted you made a fair enough arguement. But i never said he wasnt a bad player i just said his own fans should support him and not level that kind of
personal abuse his way. Obviously fans are entitled to their opinions and i've been critical of some Liverpool players (Kyrgiakos, Konchesky, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Ngog etc) but i wouldnt abuse them via social networking sites....that's personal choice i suppose.
Now for the first issue i've highlighted. Seems ur still sulking about the PM business from 2 weeks ago now. Build a bridge and get over it for christ's sake
. I've gotten over ex-girlfriends in less time
Second point i've underlined is disappointing and it's obviously a thinly veiled cheapshot in reference to Liverpool fans being murderers over what happened at Heysel. It's not your first time referencing that on here either. I'm up for all kinds of banter, i enjoy the craic on here and i keep it tongue-in-cheek. But once again you've used a disaster where lives were lost as a stick to beat me with as a Liverpool fan. Even the other 2 mancs that post on here wouldnt use that as a weapon. It shows there
may be a bit of a nasty streak in you.
Now that lindor, in anybodys book, is
poor form and it's not me being able to "dish it out but not being able to take it back", as you and mysterious friends think
Now i aint gonna use this football banter thread to begin a tit-for-tat with you. If you've banter to hit me with then bring it
i'll embrace it
. Anything darker or less light-hearted can be brought elsewhere
