What were the 49er's doing. Where was the running game.Throwing the ball all the time just makes it an easy way to defend it.

Big game TNF for the Browns
A Win gets them in the PLAYOFFS
While my dream of them winning the division (or getting the 1 seed) are highly unlikely now, it's been an incredible season for them

They are finding ways to wins games
How often can that be said about the Cleveland Browns?

TNF Browns 37 - 20 Jets
The Browns jumped out to a 20-7 lead & went into halftime 34-17 up. In the 2nd half both teams exchanged field goals it was a none event after the 1st half fireworks. Flacco passed for just short of 300 yards going into halftime. Just the one interception this time, showing all his experience & having a blast. This is a fairytale for Flacco & the Browns.

It was nice to not have to sweat this one out, but yeah, not a lot happening after the first half. More injuries for the Browns

As for the Jets, really painful to watch them this season
They obviously have a top tier defense, just once Rodgers went down their hopes were dashed. Siemian is an improvement as they were able to move the ball during this game.

Now for the Miracle that is the Browns getting the Number 1 seed
Honestly, I'm just happy they are IN the playoffs

Not inconceivable it could happen.
The Ravens last few fixtures are not gimmes. Dolphins on 11-4. Then the Steelers in a same division needle match.
Not out of the question they could come unstuck in those matches.

Cowboys 20 - 19 Lions
A great game spoilt by officiating controversy, that's sport for you. I doubt we will ever get to the bottom of this, the officials will claim they got it right & the players & coaches can't say too much for fear of fines.
This was a game that you feel that the Lions deserved to win, although the effectively took points off the board by gambling on 4th down earlier in the game when the field goal seemed like the wise call.
The took the brave option on more than one occasion, converting a 1st down on a fake punt deep in their own half.
The Lions had a balanced offense, & were able to run the ball, as oppose to the Cowboys limited success on the ground.
The game will always be remembered for the extra point attempt by the Lions with seconds on the clock. The officials called a penalty for illegal touching as the lineman who caught the 2 point conversion hadn't reported as eligible, this is disputed. Another lineman had supposedly reported instead, although it appears that both players were seen talking to the official. If the correct player had reported as eligible the formation was as it should be. Just so disappointing as it has tarnished a great battle & has implications for both these teams & others going forward regarding the #No.1 seed.
All this wouldn't have been possible if the Lions had taken the easy option & kicked the extra point to tie the game & the inevitable Overtime.

Hoping for the Niners to get back on track, so I'll be tuning in to Red Zone, although there are 10 games in the early window so it might get a bit hectic at times. Beers are chilling, keep calm.

SF 27 - 13 Commanders
Some concern over the fitness of CMC. A steady performance from Purdy & his go to man Aiyuk.
Cards 35 - 31 Eagles
A Phoenix win has resulted in the Niners securing the #No.1 seed in the NFC.

Ravens 56 - 19 Dolphins - Final
For me, Super Bowl favourites, secured the #No.1 seed & more than likely the MVP will go to Lamar Jackson with 5 TD passes on the day.
