RE: Liverpool FC
Its good for Liverpool to have a bit more strength and depth in midfield with the addition of Sahin

But, who will be the midfield 3 that Rodgers will pick?

Gerrard would definitely be one of the 3 in that midfield

But if I was the manager it would be Gerrard, Allen and Sahin

However it would be hard to leave out Lucas, as he is good at protecting the defence

Its a difficult choice for Rodgers, although in a good way

This would be our starting line up for me if everyone was fit & on target with the new tactics. I don't know too much about Joe Allen as I didn't see much of Swansea last season but I'm guessing he's a similar to Jordan Henderson (Short passing, helping the game to flow) but with a bit more experience especially in the middle.
Pepe
Kelly Škrtel Agger Enrique
Gerrard Lucas Allen
Cole Borini Suárez

Gelnn Johnson - Would be used in home games where we know we'd control the game to add to our attack.
Charlie Adam - Would be in the team same like Andy Carroll if we were needing to change tactics or say away at Stoke, his passing would twin with Carroll's style.
Jordan Henderson - Would gain experience from playing in the middle alongside Gerrard or in replace of late on in games the same with Jonjo Shelvey.
Raheem Sterling - This should be his breakthrough season as I think even at 17 he's more likely to be Messi, Rooney & Ronaldo than Joe Cole so I don't see a problem with him making 15 or so league appearances on the left of the 3 forwards.
Oussama Assaidi - Looks like he'll compete with Cole & Stewart Downing for the right position of the top 3.
Nuri Şahin - A good addition but at 23 he's not much more experienced than Joe Allen so to put him in there as first choice would be a bit of a kick in the teeth for the 5 players who play in the centre as he's only on loan.

Cup team:
Adam Morgan, Suso, Conor Cody & Dani Pacheco should be used subs in these comps to give them experience & see where they're at with their develpoment.

Doni
Flanagan Carra Coates Robinson
Henderson Spearing Adam
Assaidi Carroll Sterling

Thought we were excellent today. Walked out absolutely proud as punch after. Raheem Sterling on his first start in the league, against the champions, was immense all day. Unbelievable player. What a future the kid's got. Thought every one of the lads were top class, every one. Joe Allen, 1st game in the league at Anfield was boss. Coates, Skrtel, Kelly, Shelvey, Borini, Gerrard, Suarez, all boss for me. Apart from gifting them two goals and only walking away with a point, i couldn't be much happier just now. Thoroughly deserved the win.

Henderson couldn't live with Allen mate. Allen's a gem, a complete maestro. I swear his head is on a rotating stick. His vision, awareness, posistioning, control, passing, interceptions are honestly the best i've seen. I'll say what i said to you before Mitchell, i think if Joe Allen was Spanish, he'd start in midfield for them. He'll be a star for Liverpool. One of the signings of the season, what a purchase. Stick the game on LFC TV at midnight and watch him again. What a footballer.

Joe Allen is good, but if he was Spanish he would not force Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Fabregas and Alonso out of the Spanish first team.

I watched the game from start to finish and Allen was the best player on the pitch, he controlled the game.

Ye definitely have a gem in Sterling, Rodgers should play him more often than Downing.

Coates looks like a good player and suits Rodgers style of play, as he is good on the ball.

I think its 2 points dropped for Liverpool, they gave away 2 easily avoidable goals to Man City

He'd play in there beside Xavi, Iniesta and Alonso for me. From what i've seen of him so far, he's that good and he's only 22.

Fair enough and like you said he's only young, so he's bound to improve even more.

Looks like Liverpool's midfield three will be Gerrard, Allen and Sahin against Arsenal next weekend, as Lucas went off injured

Yeah thigh injury for Lucas mate, hopefully won't be serious. Shelvey played really well earlier but i'd imagine the new lad's gonna come in for next weekend.

You read it wrong, it said Xavi Hernández not Jordan Henderson.

No warrior would ever be seen dead in them kick!!!

Gonna put it out there. Think we'll trash Arsenal 3-0.
