Quite agree;quite unneccesary to comment like that;not helpful to us Freeviewers at all!

Don't raise your hopes. At the start of BS1 on Freeview Reede said 'I'm not going to be here for very long 'cause I'm sure this is going to get a little bit too raunchy for Freeview'. When are they going to stop this stupid nonsense?

Edited for accuracy.

Ah yes but she was not pulled off screen was she, what was it about 45 mins section from the start.

Presumably because what transpired was anything but 'raunchy'; just the usual (for Freeview) case of promising 'it’s going to be great', then it isn’t.

For all you guy's that are moving home, or getting a freeview aerial installed, they will charge around £120.00 just to install the aerial, you still have to buy the box. Sky's freesat is £147.00 including installation. It make's more sense to go sky

And if you're not moving house, or don't require a new antenna, a brand new Freeview box can be had for £10; slightly cheaper than £147, don't you think?

BTW, £120 for a terrestrial antenna installation? Are all the installers in your area driving around in Bentleys, by any chance? Wink

As far as I can see, the difference between Sky only and Sky-Freeview transmissions is highly exaggerated anyway. But since there isn't an adult section in freeview, it's probably responsible broadcasting to be a little more careful on freeview and I don't think any broadcaster should be criticised for being a responsible broadcaster.

Ffs! There's NO SUCH THING as a 'Freeview aerial'. All you need is an ordinary terrestrial aerial with a decent performance. 99% of existing aerials will do the job. I get perfect Freeview reception from a stubby little item about 18 inches long installed about 20 years ago and not even pointing directly towards the tv mast.

And once more, NOT EVERYONE IS ABLE TO INSTALL SKY!!! How many more times do we have to say this?

Then you need new spectacles. I watch the web stream whenever I can and the difference between a Sky-only 2-4-1 and the laughable Freeview equivalent is enormous.

Edit: Except of course for the notable, but very short, recent effort from Yvette and Kelly. There are hopeful signs on BS Freeview at the moment, and it's certainly far superior to what BB Freeview has settled down to.

RE: Freeview vs Sky moaning thread
Whats the fundamental difference between Sky and Freeview ? Is it that Sky starts earlier than the midnight start (or 1am in most cases), when Freeview kicks in. I used to have Virgin Media (now have Freeview) and never have coverage at all, I guess the more adult content needed to be activated, which is a bit daft if you can get coverage on Freeview as standard. Do Sky get more channels ?

Serious answers please, Im not interested in whining or bitching or cock boasting why one is better than the other.

Sky starts earlier, and has more channels.

Sky starts earlier, has more channels and, most crucially, has much stronger content.
