Favourite Games Of all Time

God of War 1 & 2, looking forward to the 3rd one next year. Monkey Island from my amiga days, just remember it being one of the funniest, strangest and hardest games i've ever played, happy days

FF VII regardless of the dated graphics is still about ten times better then most games released now, the story of it is just so good that you wanna play it again and again just in case you missed something.

This man has taste, Golden Axe was probably one of the first games I ever played, they made a remake this year and its on my Santa's list.

Zelda - Ocarina of Time and The Twilight Princess

Gunstar Heroes, Altered Beast, FFVII, Championship Manager 01/02 (That one was close to perfect, I still play it now.) and Jet Set Willy on my old Spectrum 128, although I broke at least three joysticks in frustration at how hard the damned thing was.

Loved some of the old Spectrum games - like you, Jet Set Willy. Also Skool Daze, Manic Miner, Chuckie Egg, Underwurlde, Knight Lore and Boulder Dash spring to mind. The game that buggered up my keyboard was Daley Thompson's Decathlon...

You're not joking Skate! I think my fingertips are still bruised now, twenty years later. (Jesus Christ! TWENTY YEARS!) At least modern games are completable. Jet Set Willy was famous for being programmed so as to prevent completion, the evil, BASTARDS!... breathe, you're not bitter, forget it and move on... I just wish I'd known that at the time. I used to spend hours on a weird little game called Cauldron as well. You flew a witch around on a broomstick and avoided bats, that seemed to be it. It was very soothing after fucking up yet another attempt at the javelin though.

Well don't worry, its all in the past now.... Its not like there's any Spectrum emulators out there which would allow you to go back and relive the frustration of Jet Set Willy...

I have always utterly refused to have anything to do with the Speccy emulators. I have this horrible premonition that all those old classics will turn out be complete dreck to someone now used to Portal, GTA series, Final Fantasy etc. If that turns out to be true my child hood memories will be tarnished forever! On the other hand what if they aren't? That means I've spent hundreds of pounds on modern games when I could just have d/l'd an emulator for free and my adult life will be shown up for the shallow, corporate contolled sham that really is! And I'll be spending fortunes on new keyboards and joysticks in the middle of a recession, good for the economy as whole, bad for my bank balance. Boo to obsessive procrastination, boo I say!

Cheers Bosse, didnt know they had made a new Goldenaxe. Off to search it out, hope its on PS3!

Great series of games in my opinion. So many people bash it because it is "unrealistic" but it is set in the future!
