BBC vs ITV

gotta agree with everyone else. bbc is far from great but head & shoulders above itv. apart from football i cant think of any regular itv shows i'd watch, maybe a bit of millionaire now & then but even thats been changed for the worse. whatever bbc do tho including the mostly awful bbc3 they will always win as long as itv keep itv2 going. itv2's ads for their best shows sums up whats wrong with them, tv made for fools who wish to stay that way. as long as bbc is licensed they have a duty to include intelligent & thought provoking programs so as much as i hate paying i dread to think of british tv without it.

I think both are rubbish.
ITV show SOME decent shows (Sanctuary, Dollhouse) but let Supernatural go.
BBC have Waterloo Road, and the better news coverage.
I prefer the BBC's sports coverage, as Mitchell said, because of the lack of ad breaks. And they show Rugby League Challenge Cup matches and Superleague highlights. Formula 1 too.
ITV sometimes have boxing and some motorsport, but that's all. Football commentary from both broadcasters is rubbish.
I don't watch any of the soaps.
Against the BBC, I think it is too much geared towards middle/ upper-class office types, kinda like the political system. Except for BBC3, which is just stupid.
I think I watch more on channel 4, than all of the BBC and ITV channels put together.
Then again, Cellcast get 15 and a half hours of viewing everyday!

Difficult one for me.

I like the bbc for some things like spooks, mock the week, buzzcocks, sports coverage.

On the other hand i like itv for its news shows, i believe itv breakfast shows are better also. Xfactor beats strictly imo.

But ultimately i could live without both and stick with just sky sports lol
