RE: The Lions
"bod is my hero" - I always preferred Frank the Postman myself. Sorry!
Can't wait for the game now. I think Geech and co have picked the best possible side and with no Burger, we might just do this. It's the only Test at sea level so it's vital to win this one.
Hopefully the ref will ignore the Boks' coaches bullshit about our scrummaging being illegal (how wonderful is it to have SA scared of our scrum?) and we can get perity at the breakdown. If we can do that I'm convinced we have the backs to beat them. Jamie Roberts could be a world star in three weeks time, mark my words.

RE: The Lions
Yeah we have to win the First Test then anything can happen. I have great faith in Ian McGeechan but I do worry about the discipline, stupid penalties could undo all the good work.
Also I just hope the referee is strong and doesnt favour the home team, I just want him to be fair and impartial,if so then we should have the edge up front.

I am hopeful...the beers are the fridge.........cant wait

RE: The Lions
Wow! What a match that was.
We have the beating of them in the backs but we really struggled in the tight and the lineout was horrible. The ref sadly swallowed the Boks whingeing about the scrum like a pornstar swallowing a cock so Vickery got screwed but the character the Lions showed was extraordinary. We need a miracle to turn the series round now.

If they can sort the set pieces out, yes they can because Roberts and O'Driscoll were head and shoulders above anything the Boks had.

RE: The Lions
I know the Lions lost but at the end the Boks were hanging on...it was they who wanted the Final whistle to blow...if only Monye hadnt lost the ball......also the ref should have shown a yellow card to the Boks..how many penalties did they concede near thier line

I know the First half was bad,no scrum,no lineout,no ball and too many penalties conceded, not kicking well..........but when the Lions attacked we looked dangerous...with just a bit more luck or with a couple of decisions going the other way it could have been differentSmile

(British&Irish) Lions made a stirring and exciting comeback but prehaps the Boks deserved to win (too strong 1st Half) but we showed character to come back to 26-21 and the Boks were worried at the end Big Grin (just a few minutes more)
Bring on the Second Test

EDIT thought Roberts had a great game

RE: The Lions
The Boks certainly deserved to win over the whole game and there's no doubt they thought the game was over with 20 minutes to go. But the comeback was outstanding and should give a big boost for next week.
When you consider we had two dropped balls and a Bok arm under the ball over the line (incredible defence btw) we shouldn't get overly depressed. I said it before today's game and it was proved - get parity up front and we can beat the Boks.

RE: The Lions
From what I have read, the Lions best chance of winning was the first game which is at sea-level, the other games are at high altitude which makes it harder for them (physically) to win.

Thank you and goodnight!
