RE: god of war 3
Anybody else get the code e-mail off of Sony to download and play the demo that they had at E3? I seem to be the only one who has got it out of all my mates that I asked.
The graphics are a bit meh (but I have been spoilt by Uncharted 2, plus the graphics can be updated before release) but that is really the only gripe I have, the gameplay is solid as ever, there is now a ridiculous amount of enemies onscreen at a time (I got an 86 hit combo without even trying) and my god is it fucking brutal. When you rip the eye out of a Cyclops now Kratos grabs it by both hands and you literally see it being ripped out of the socket, with optic nerve intact. And when Kratos fights a Chimera (sp?) he kills every head seperately, very gorily (is that a word?) and when he kills it he slices it from arse to throat and it's intestines fall out. He also rips the head off of a god in the demo, and you see the flesh tearing as he is doing it. It is so OTT, like an innocent standing in between 2 burning windows on a ledge I was traversing had the 'O' icon over his head, I expected if I pressed 'O' that I would save him, I obviously forgot what game I was playing, Kratos smashes his face into the wall a few times and then throws him off the (extremely high) ledge, lol. It was so unecessary but it is cool that it is there.
There is a kinda weird bit at the end of the demo which is kinda like Lylatwars or Space Harrier or something when he is using Icarus Wings that I am also not too sure about but it was not bad at all. The demo also ends on a cliffhanger which makes you wonder if Kratos is now on his own side and nobody elses, i.e. has he now forsaken the Titans too?
You're not for this world, this world is for you.

RE: god of war 3
Yeah before Christmas I believe, here is the spiel from ign:
A compilation disc on Blu-ray that features the first two God of War games. These PS2 games are remastered and pack 60 frames-per-second action, 720p graphics, and PlayStation Network Trophy support.
In God of War, players take on the role of Kratos, a Spartan warrior. Plagued by the nightmares of his past, the ash covered warrior would do anything to be free of his debt to the Gods and the memories that haunt him. For ten years he has labored for Olympus, now on the verge of losing all hope, the Gods have given him one last task. Destroy Ares, the God of War. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, Kratos will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and dangerous and brutal landscapes.
In God of War II, Kratos sits atop his Olympus throne, as the new God of War – far more ruthless than Ares ever was. To end his continued torment, Kratos must journey to the far reaches of the earth and defeat untold horrors and alter that which no mortal, or god has ever changed...his fate.
You're not for this world, this world is for you.
