OFCOM and the ASA gave them a chance to rectify the problems. They chose not to.
What the Girls show/do not show is defined by the individual channels producers.
OFCOM are not standing in the corner of the studio with big stick telling the Girls what to do.
A really fasinating post, vostok, and I mean that sincerely, but I can't accept things are quite as black and white as you suggest.
These channels know we want harder material, so if what you suggest is true (that it wasn't Babestar's output that brought its demise) why don't any of the current channels offer similarly explicit material?

It'd be good to see harder stuff sometimes but you can get it on the internet so its not that big a deal. Besides I don't phone or text in so why should they care about my opinion? I contribute sweet F.A. to the channels so its not really important what I think as they make nothing from doing what I want them to.
At the end of the day as long as I get to see tits n ass like I do now i'm happy.
Who's the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?

There's no such thing as 'glamour models', just different levels of porn. It's just snobbiness from certain girls, in my opinion. As soon as they get their tits out, it's porn.

Sorry it took a while to reply Stan, not been online much in the last week.
I think the Babe shows are probably in something of a transitional period at the moment with the ofcom consultation looming.
These are the proposals on "Adult Sex Material":
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/...9/main.pdf
(parts 4 and 6)
However, there will be a separate consultation for the babe shows in the autumn, postponed from the initial consultation last spring.
Here is the response from the Participation Broadcasters Association, which is the trade body that represents various "anonymous" channel owners:
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/...tv_ass.pdf
So I guess future plans for the Babe Shows hinge on what happens in the autumn consultation.

Can I suggest none of us hold our breath, just to be on the safe side.
I predict the outcome of these new proposals will have little or no effect, just like they did last time. I can't express how excited I was, a few years ago, when I heard news that Ofcom wanted to hand most of the responsibility for these channels' output over to the programme makers and viewers. That idea never saw the light of day, did it? Having said that, though, and to be fair to the Babeshows, I think they did try to make the best of their new rights, and gave us some fairly good material for a time, but Ofcom soon stepped in, so what was the point of the proposal in the first place?
