I can see a problem. If the plane went down in the area where the reported debris has been found, the ocean currents would have washed the debris away by now and dispersed it from that location, so the debris wouldn't still be there for anyone to find.

It's been said that the plane was carrying gold. Apparently a great deal of gold has gone missing from Ukraine. After the Russian invasion it's being said that a quantity of gold immediately disappeared and speculation says it was heading to China, which is why many people believe it could have been abord the MH370.

I think you're creating a problem where there isn't a problem. I believe the plane was deliberately flown as far south as possible and when it's fuel ran out it went down in the sea. When I say it was where the debris was found I don't mean in exactly that spot, but somewhere in that vicinity. I agree the debris wouldn't be in the EXACT spot the plane went down, but it would still be in the general area.

If the plane was carrying gold perhaps the pilots were part of the heist?

I hope everyone realises that even if the debris is confirmed as having come from the missing plane, it will not in any way prove that the plane went down in that position. If the plane landed somewhere like Diego Garcia it would be very easy for the Americans to dump a few bits of debris in the ocean at about the plane's fuel limit to throw everyone off the scent. All it would take is a limited amount of debris found bobbing in the ocean and if people buy it the US would have covered their tracks completely.

They were discussing that on the radio this morning. Apparently expert oceanographers would be able to plot roughly where the debris came from using their knowledge of the currents.
I presume they could also have a stab at where it went, from the position on the satellite image.

I can't see why Malaysia would need to ask. The Americans are involved in the search and I would expect they have suitable toys for that job.

Very strange I agree. Really makes no sense. The US have spy sat everywhere with nice resolution. They would I'm sure know if Taliban had the plane.

After 12 days it would surely have drifted hundreds of miles. If the strength of the current was a mere 2 miles an hour it would add up to 600 miles by now.

Just seeing on the news now that the British satellite tracking firm Inmarsaat have made a public complaint about the Malaysian authorities misusing their data and not searching in the right area. They say they provided the correct info 10 days ago and it was ignored.
