RE: Ofcom Discussion
Ofcom do seem to have been lenient with Storm over the audio recording failure. They could have thrown the book at them.
What is annoying is that adult channels are allowed no leeway when there is a minor visual breach of the rules. Every single time channels are found in breach, and often warned that a repeat could lead to a fine. Even if they admin the offence, put new procedures in place, send staff on training, sack people, even if they report themselves like Playboy did a while back.
Other channels make similar noises and the case is marked "Resolved" meaning they are weally weally sowwy and it wont happen again, honest.
Some channels make far more serious breaches, quoting religious rules about killing people, broadcasting blatant onesided material during elections or encouraging people not to take anti cancer medicine, and they get treated leniently.

RE: Ofcom Discussion
First up my first reaction to ED not getting the BBC job is oh fuck, but I will look at the positives on this. ED has obviously got pissed off wielding the axe at ofcom and clearly no longer has the appetite for the job anymore and is wanting out. I wonder enough to turn a blind eye to perhaps a really good uncensored show.
Christmas time and I also believe a lot of places are looking for extra staff. For example Tesco's and Asda's. On a more serious note surely his position at ofcom should be looked at, he clearly has no loyalty anymore. Maybe they should demote him to coffee boy.
To answer continental's answer what 2013 brings is anybodys guess. Who knows the amount of money ED has anyway could prompt him to hand in his resignation, I mean he's hardly going to be at ofcom forever, he will be replaced if this organisation isn't scrapped before then.
Another theory could be that ofcom are in their last days and all have been given notice, I mean with the UK under constant scrutiny from the rest of Europe scrapping this miserable censor might have already been decided for 2013.
Let's not let this latest letdown defeat us or leave us feeling pessimistic. More twists and turns will surely follow in our fight for greater freedom. In a democracy anything is possible and hope is something that ofcom can never take away from us.
