^Don't forget that the last 2 Prime Ministers have been trying to deal with the damage done by Liz Truss.

The big problem with Labour is that they don't seem aware of the consequences of their actions. They are supposed to have advisers to stop the car crash decisions.

We're in a different place now. Truss spooked the markets and the backlash was almost instantaneous. She didn't do anything that directly affected people, until interest rates had to go up.

This lot have spooked businesses. You know, the things that employ people and generate money for the economy. They've been doing it gradually all summer by talking the economy down then hitting them with the budget.
Few of them are now investing for the future because no-one is sure what it holds under this lot. And that's even before the NI hike kicks in.

Going back to the farmers. I've worked for, and with, a lot of them. They are a unique breed. When they have money it goes straight back into the economy. They don't pay dividends out, or hide it from the taxman abroad, they invest in the business. New equipment and infrastructure to make them more efficient. Conversely, they are the masters of battening down the hatches and make do and mend when they need to.
That puts their suppliers on a very sticky wicket, with nowhere to go.
Just this month a large farm equipment dealer in the north of England, with multiple depots and millions in turnover, went bust. I believe another down in the SW went last month as well.

I don't see anything that's likely to turn it round in the near future. Brace yourselves for a recession.

If you want a signpost to consumer spending this Xmas, our local supermarket slashed 50% off the price of Xmas trees... at the beginning of this month.

Following on from the negative GDP figures.

Better hunker down folks.

To those still pointing to Truss and saying "but, but...", a slow motion crash will take much, much longer to turn round.
Especially if the drivers have their eyes closed...

They're probably still looking for the flying pigs

I think we should get Jon Taffer in to tell Starmer some home truths about what he's doing Big Grin

If this lot was running a pub how much would you reckon they'd be losing a month & how bad would the service be?

Oh dear Oh dear. Labour have given/flipped the middle finger to pensioners again!!! as they've said they're not paying compensation to the WASPI Women, going against the recommendations of the pension ombudsman. What makes this even worse is Labour was supporting the Waspi campaign in opposition, including Keir Starmer & Rachel Reeves & Liz Kendall !!!! annoyed

Regarding Rachel Reeves, in response to inflation going up for 2nd month in a row, she basically said "we understand the situation & are taking action" annoyedannoyed

I think she as forgotten already what is the driving force of iinflation rising two months in a row!!

I think you can call that another election/promised pledge broken Rammy. How many pledges have Labour broken?

But let's face it, no matter who is in power, they all talk the same bollocks - that doesn't change from one party to the next.

People want to have a go at Labour, fine but find it funny how people will have a go and then offer Nigel Farage as the solution.

I also find it strange that the Conservatives delayed Post Office Scandal payments, Tainted Blood payments and the WASPI decision yet that seems to have been forgotten as well as their pre-election commitment to reduce National Insurance again. Where was the money coming from?

Labour are certainly making mistakes and failing to clearly explain their decision making. I do know someone who was affected by the WASPI decision yet she’s quite clear that she knew what was happening and planned accordingly.

On the Winter Fuel Payments changes my own mother has moaned about no longer getting it but goes strangely quiet when I remind her of her pension arrangement, the fact she’s nowhere near qualifying for pension credit, has thousands in the bank and saves about £400 a month. She’s 97!
