Tiffany said: "On this channel we've got a new licence..." so which channel number was it?

Like mrmann say's Tiffany said it on Sky 906, but she also said it on freeview 172, (same feed) ,my guess is she wasn't referring to the Sky channel because that has a Dutch licence, but freeview 172 uses a Ofcom licence, so my guess is they have got a new licence for the freeview channel and Sky 906 is still using the same Dutch licence .l

But won't the free view channel show the same content as the SKY one? I thought if anything, the free view channels would show more censored content shocked

That sounds very plausible. She has to be referring to the Freeview channel, assuming there's any substance to what she's saying at all.

Why should it? Cellcast does currently mirror the Sky output (906) on Freeview but they could start a new Freeview channel if they want, or keep mirroring 906 on Freeview but make it a bit harder, given that now both channels will be Dutch-regulated.

They've already proved that they can flout Ofcom regs on Freeview by starting their Freeview service much earlier than the Ofcom-regulated channels are allowed to.

I would love to believe they have a new licence allowing stronger content but will believe it when I see it.

To be honest one brief shoutout is a strange way to announce a major change. If it were true shouldnt all the babes be mentioning it every time the have mike time?

This is the Dutch regulator's website http://www.kijkwijzer.nl/index.php?id=36 presumably there must be somewhere on it that lists if new licences have been granted in the same way that Ofcom do , I've not found anything yet though .

It's all getting a bit vague now, isn't it? So, now that we can all say we've seen the clip for ourselves, we discover that 'Dutch' isn't even mentioned. I can't imagine what else she's referring to, but it does make you wonder.

But I thought freeview were on an Ofcom license, which the theory suggests is why BS1 haven't been able to take advantage of their Dutch license - because of the duel broadcast?

Ooh, my head's starting to hurt now.

RE: Ofcom Discussion
Stan, Freeview 172 shows the same feed as Sky 906 , 906 has the Dutch licence but freeview 172 was Ofcom licensed , we now think that they may have got a Dutch licence for FV 172 meaning both channels that show the same feed are now Dutch licensed, Freview channel 173 has a Dutch licence and is the channel that starts at 10pm two hours before Ofcom regulations allow babe channels on freeview to start, but the equivalent channel on Sky Ch 909 is Ofcom licensed . The other BS channel on freeview with a Dutch licence is Ch 174 , that is the channel used to broadcast the encrypted BSX shows
