It's Dunblane isn't it? He was one of the pupils at the school when that massacre took place. Hopefully he can get lots of rest over the weekend and comeback next week fully recharged. Mixed blessing with Nadal pulling out injured. Was hoping him and Novak could beat each other into submission in the other semi final. I was hopi g that who ever won that would be in no fit state to face Murray in the final.

RE: Andy Murray
Bedene put up a fight but Djokovic finds a way to win.

As for Murray, great match in prospect next versus Gasquet. The Frenchman is desperate to take his opportunity in his home slam. He blew Nishikori away with some stunning shots down the line. Murray was predictably solid against Isner, particularly on serve. His first serve was impeccable on break point down, no less than 5 times.

Gasquet's only dropped one set while Murray looks to have got his act together now after the toils in the first two rounds. Should be a good contest - although I will say that Gasquet looks more determined than ever this time to take the opportunities presented to him. Maybe its Federer and Nadal being absent that has given him new hope, but he does seem focused, and determined not to choke on the big stage, as he has done numerous times before. I'd back Murray in four, but it's a close one.

Tough draw for Muzza to come now

Potentially it reads:
Gasquet.
Wawrinka.
Djokovic.

Ouch ouch and triple ouch eek.
I just wonder whether those two five set matches early in the tournament might have an impact down the track especially as I understand the weather forecast is not great for the next few days which may lead to matches in successive days for Murray with a fair bit of court time already spent.
I don't doubt Murray has the ability to win.
His training programme is designed to get him over the line in long haul tournaments like this.
But I still worry whether he will quite have enough left in the tank. Go on Andy, banish my worries to the bin.

RE: Andy Murray
I think Gasquet is emulating Murray in 2014. Murray didn't drop a set till he played Dimitrov than got a rude awakening. I think same thing will hapen to Gasquet. Murray is battle hardened and has proven he can come through the tough ones. For some unknown reason Murray seems to be an expert on beating people in their own back yard. Everyone thought Kyrgious would trouble him at the aussie open and Murray blew him away. He even beat Nadal on clay in Madrid.

RE: Andy Murray
Murray's certainly got a knack for playing the pantomime villain to the home crowd's champion. He's beaten Gasquet twice at the French Open too. I wasn't worried about Kyrgios at the Australian Open, I thought Murray would win comfortably, but yes there were a lot of people apprehensive about that one. For me Kyrgios' time will come as one of the future big four or five, along with Thiem, Coric, Zverev and hopefully Edmund.

But for now, Murray's on top of his game. I don't think this will be a one sided match, Gasquet will push him, but I expect Murray to come through 3-1.

RE: Andy Murray
Gasquet will certainly push him the first two sets. If Murray can be no worse than 1-1 after first two sets than he will be the obvious favourite. Even Isner gave Murray a hard time first set. It's usually th end of the third set that the obviously superior players qualities come to the fore. SEEN Djokovich do that to Murray far too often not to realise that.
