I was expecting Selby-Wilson from a few days ago, so I'm shocked too. Guess that's a 6th world title to shut John Virgo up then (where IS he anyway? isolating for the good of everybody else's health?)

Think I heard one of the other commentators say Virgo was in Canada possibly. Don't quote me on that though.

Also definitely a 6th title for Ronnie, Wilson to lose with single figure frames and probably with a session to spare too, unfortunately.

In all my years watching snooker (39 to be precise) I have never witnessed anything quite like what I saw today from The Crucible.
The final frame in the Wilson-McGill match in particular provided the most mind boggling sequence of events I have ever seen in any frame.
I have literally never seen anything quite like it
It got to a point where after every shot I was like .

For something like that to happen in the deciding frame of a World semi final is beyond belief. It was simply staggering .

Probably showed every player what they can do and only dream of doing if they can put their mind to it, with or without a crowd.

If McGill the Cheat does kick on next season, as Wilson did after his Masters final 31 months ago, then OK, fair play, though he's still scum.

It's odd how you can bracket runners-up into how badly they do:

: less than 6 - John Parrott, Jimmy White
: 6-12 - Nigel Bond, Peter Ebdon
: 12 -17 - a decent score, no shame in that.

I hope Wilson makes double figures, once he's calmed down.

John Virgo is in Spain , he was due to commentate but the 2 week quarantine put paid to that.

Maybe he's learning guitar so he can replace Chas Hodges in Chas n Dave? There ain't no pleasing him!

First session of the final has been error strewn. Both players missing balls.
The exertions of yesterday may be taking their toll a bit at the moment.
