Just wondered - when you say "even i heard" does that mean you're hard of hearing colino?

I don't have a witty response to that yet....Give me a while and i'll think one up Tongue

Paul Collingwood has just announched his retirement from International Test Cricket.

He is going to continue as the Ond Day Captain

On his last ever International ball he took the wicket of Hussey.

Botham may need to apologise for that remark, as the umpires have since confirmed that Hughes said he wasn't sure about the catch and therefore was obviously not cheating.

why appeal like a lunatic then if he was not sure, a polite enquiry would have done the jobannoyed

i suspect once he had seen the reaction of haddin and cook he back tracked as fast as he could to try and save face!!

Botham called it spot on

I've been keeping my mouth shut, because, well, I'm English and I've seen us snatch defeat (or a disappointing draw) from the jaws of victory many, many times. Even with that in mind, I have to say...

I THINK WE'RE ACTUALLY GOING TO WIN THIS MATCH AND THE SERIES!

You have no idea how good it feels to say that aloud (so to speak). What makes me particularly happy is that Australia aren't actually all that bad, especially at home. England have just outplayed them! I've waited my entire cricket viewing life to say that. I'll post a few more thoughts later (I'll bet you're all just itching to read them Tongue), but for now I just wanted to yell and whoop a bit and the forum is the best place for that, since everyone else I know is either asleep or detests cricket. Sorry for the double post, but we're taking the extra half hour! We're actually taking the extra half an hour and trying to knock them over tonight. Seeing England trample Australia when they're down is, well, it's a deeply emotional moment for me.

There are times in sport when you should enjoy the moment.

When Coe & Ovett ruled the world at middle distance running
When Torvill & Dean were easily the best Ice Dances
When Steve Redman always brought home the gold.

This summer England will be taking on India...
The results will prove if the current team will be judged to see if they are in the all time greats bracket, or if the Australians were just a weak side. The team is now at it's peak, age wise, and they have reserves to cover all positions.

It could be an entertaining summer.

How do you know that? The match isn't over yet so Collingwood may possibly bowl again. He also has 9 catches in the series, the most by anyone on either side except the wicketkeepers.
