Probably more like just clearing the guttering bit I suppose. I amazed how a pole vaulter will capture a crowd when the track stuff is almost done. I remember watching Brian Hooper attempt a new British record I think once at Crystal Palace Stadium.

I will say I reckon by the time LA comes around I am pretty sure he'll get it pretty close to or just on 7 metres. I don't think Bubka ever got that close to 7 metres.

It will be an incredible feat if he was to break 7 metres then. It will be an iconic moment in athletics history.

It's a well done to Keely in winning the 800m gold. But I haven't seen if she's doubling up (just like Cram, Coe and Ovett). I haven't noticed her in the 1500m or the 400m. Surely she'd medal in either of those as well.

The schedule.
400m heats started yesterday morning and the 1500m heats this morning.
She would have had to run a 400m heat and an 800m final on the same day.
With the way the rounds progress in both those events through this week she would have been faced with running almost every day against loaded fields and compromised her main goal of winning the 800m. Not sustainable. She made absolutely the correct decision especially bearing in mind it's The Olympic title on the line.

So if she'd slowly jogged round the 1500m course this morning, couldn't she have another day before she'd be properly racing in the repechage.

She was not selected to run the 1500m for GB and her focus was on the 800m anyway. In theory she could have jogged round if selected to do both the 800 and 1500 but in practice it was never going to happen. Her sole focus was the 800m.
As for the relays I have no idea what the plans are for that although the relay squad does not have her included.
