RE: General Election Vote
Those numbers show how flawed our electoral is. Millions of people have a vote that at the end of the day counts for nothing.

Completely agree, where i live there has only ever been one party that has one... i still vote against them, but i might as well go and write CUNTY on the ballot card.. which i guess with that parties candidate will make 2 cunts on the form. Wink

RE: General Election Vote
Well that's me just logged in, I never went to my bed until lunchtime as Election fever just took a grip on me so I did an allnighter. So another term for the Tories but up here we obviously see things a lot more different.

In all my lifetime never I have never witnessed a victory as sweet as last night for the SNP, seat after seat we hammered every party in sight. Now what really fucked up Scottish Labour was their refusal to do a deal with the SNP if elected, so guys like Jim Murphy who would have been safe otherwise sealed their own fate.

Also if its any sort of mild consolation to the Labour movement in Scotland was that they all came second to the SNP. The tories are well hated up here as some of the results put them on less than 1000 votes so I can assure you that the Scottish people most certainly did not want another Conservative Government.

Anyway I'm still delighted as this latest SNP result will no doubt push for a second Scottish Independence Referendum. sure Cameron may be relived that he won't have Farage to worry about but big Eck will give him a run for his money, I cannot wait until Prime Minsters Question time now Big Grin

Yes you are right on that one but it wouldn't surprise in the least if Alex Salmond pushes for full control now that he's back at Westminster Smile

RE: General Election Vote
Far from being a nation unfeeling uncaring individuals, the UK is one of the most generous nations on earth. Every year the great british public dig deep into their pockets for comic relief and children in need, we give hundreds of millions a year to other charities and disaster appeals, much of the supplies given to the food banks is donated by the pubic, we always help the underdog. Labour like to pretend they are the caring party but in reality they just a bunch of hypocrites no different to the nasty party. Margret Hodge the so called tax crusader criticises others for tax avoidance but used EXACTLY the same methods to avoid paying tax on £1.5 million in share dividends, and when challenged on it said "everything I've done is within the rules" why should she get away with it and not others? Miliband criticised the tories for taking donations from big business but were quite happy to take 2.5 million from one of those same companies when they were in power. Many of the tax avoidance loop holes were put in place under the Blair/ brown administrations. They started the privatisation of the NHS not the tories, they signed contracts that will cost the NHS billions in the next few years. Labour are no longer the party of the working man, they despise their own supporters, completely ignoring their concerns and pretending to be interested only when election time came round.

You only have to look at the picture Emily Thornberry tweeted from Strood to see what Labours metropolitan elite really think of us.

Also adds weight to the proportional representation argument. Though it would probably result in permanent hung parliaments....just about right... hang all the self serving bastards from the nearest lamp posts Big Grin
