It's not that long ago before so much was available either legit or pirated on the net that everything or decent R18 stuff was only available on DVD or in lesser cases video with most DVDs priced £30 to £40 in adult shops or even mail order and only if you were lucky or trying to clear stock that discs were £20 ish or less!

I personally dont know anyone who's paid for Porn DVD's. That's one reason the internet's there for, and even before the net was about people had dodgey pirated VHS tapes etc.
