getting rid of the WCA in 2028

and merging some stuff but nothing on Payments or what they are doing with the LCWRA

Same, it's a series of statements but not really any solid answers, no exacts. Don't think it'll relieve any tensions.

Quote:Universal credit:

There will be permanent above-inflation rises to universal credit
Universal credit claimants with severe, lifelong disabilities will not usually face benefits reassessments
The work capability assessment for universal credit is to be scrapped in 2028 - the assessment essentially determines whether someone is able to work
'Right to try':

People will have the right to try returning to work "without the fear this will put their benefits at risk". Kendall says this will tackle the "perverse financial incentives... which actively encourage people into welfare dependency"

Looks like the LCWRA will be stuck on the current rate for current claims until 2030

was apparently in the small print

My blood has been boiling multiple times this evening when Liz Kendall & her ministers from the DWP ducking the question when they were asked about taking money from disabled people, basically saying anyone criticising these changes are defending/supporting the tories and the status quo annoyedannoyedannoyedannoyedannoyed

I feel it is always the disabled the long term sick, etc that end up being the easiest of targets to feel the force of any attempt of ANY government's attempt to save money. I get the feeling that there are still many Labour MP's who haven't got the balls join those who already oppose it and just plain scared to stand up and do so.

Whatever happens, the big companies dodiging paying corporation tax will probably end up still dodging paying corporation tav as this government has - IMHO - no balls to do so. This government isn't just miserable it is more clueless than the Truss administration that trashed and when you read headlines the '4 in 10 Gen Z are considering quitting the workfoce entirely' 'that was on the Daily Mail front page yesterday, then you just have to wonder if the government's strategy on attracting investment from abroad is the strategic key element in this and it isn't working like it should be.

I have a mate who uses a rechargeable hearing aid. He has a spare one he can swap with when he pulls a double shift.
