RE: Ofcom Discussion
Does anyone know anything about the case that Wantless says has been raised.
Is it possible that the remark from S66 Gallery is related?

RE: Ofcom Discussion
^ Looks like the case wantless is referring to is to do with wasted credits due to the faulty system. Gallery is speaking to that. It's the only thing I can see a site member going to Ofcom about. (I can understand the frustration but it's a nuclear move given the focus it might bring on 66. That's if Ofcom can even regulate on such things. Anyone know? Huh )

I do know you should be careful taking anything unofficial as fact (even stuff on forums lol). There are errors in that grab for sure as Ofcom have said they undertake self-monitoring of channels (not just the babeshows). No public complaint is necessary any more and hasn't been for a couple of years.

I'm not sure they record all channels as routine either. Else why would they require channels to make their own complete recordings and supply them to Ofcom as needed. The latter is part of an operator's broadcast licence.

Babeshow n. - Live Adult Entertainment genre based around premium-rate phome sex chat lines. Scantily-clad female presenter induces callers and users to other inactive services from three-walled set in a TV studio. Largely softcore Tease format influenced by standards and strictures of free-to-air TV platform..

I think that Ofcom should be able to regulate IF a customer has lost money but I absolutely agree that if possible Studio 66 should remain 'out of focus'.Big Grin

If a customer has lost money because of a fault and can't get replacement credits or a refund the matter could be reported to trading standards. If it concerns a premium rate phoneline it should be reported to the Phone-paid Services Authority.

It shouldn't be reported to Ofcom, because it wouldn't be a complaint about the broadcast content of television, radio or video on demand.

decided to sub for a month for the adult channel, saw you get a few other channels with the month sub so later that night i goes to watch only to be greeted by an annoying enter pin, every 30 mins or after every show i get kicked out only to have to enter a bloody pin number, if i knew i had to pay to enter a pin every 20 to 30 mins then i would never have purchased that monthly package.

This is surely just down to Playboy who own the Adult Channel and nothing to do with Ofcom. I don't think Television X has the same policy, which would mean it can't possibly be an Ofcom requirement.

I've seen the same thing on Sky Movies, but in that case it really is down to Ofcom rules, because Sky show 12 and 15 rated movies during the day which Ofcom require to be PIN protected at that time.

It's been a while since I watched TVX, and it's under new ownership these days anyway, but in the past I'm sure that no PIN was required - unlike the Playboy channels which require constant PIN input as you described.

The thing that TVX used to do which was poor was to cut in the middle of programmes to go to a Freeview or when the channels close at 5:30. They used to cut right in the middle of the scene which was lazy scheduling.

Yes I saw it on SyFy channel just a few days ago. If you watch a 15 rated film during the daytime it asks for your pincode. Ofcom rules.

Take this for what it's worth but we could be seeing more erect penis' on British TV from next year. I bet nothing changes on the female side of things.
