Bubba Ho-tep(2002)
Don Coscarelli's directs this amazingly, weird, funny, moving and brilliant tale of what really happened to Elvis Presley.Set in a west Texas retirement home,a brilliant Bruce Campbell plays Elvis who, along with an equally outstanding Ossie Davis as President John F Kennedy do battle with an evil mummy(Bob Ivy)who is sucking the lifeforce from the other residents.

Planet of The Vampires(1965)
Mario Bava directs this very good film about a group of astronauts who explore the ruins of another ship containing the skeletal remains of its giant alien pilot. With a tiny budget Bava used old tricks like smoke and mirrors to great effect in order to create the other worldly quality for the planets' exterior.Screenwriter Dan O'Bannon and director Ridley Scott claim that they've never seen this, but its hard to avoid its influence on Alien(1979).However both of the films are seminal sci-fi/horror classics.

Runaway(1984)
Between Westworld and Jurassic Park came another Michael Crichton tale of technology gone awry, only this time it has a helping hand from Kiss front man Gene Simmons, here making his big screen debut as techo butter Luther.A mad,bad scientist with an army of robot spiders and a whole case of Tracers.Bullets with your name on it.Written and Directed by Crichton himself,Runaway at times is quite silly, but decent action scenes and strong acting from Tom Selleck,Cynthia Rhodes,Kirstie Alley,G W Bailey and Gene Simmons means there is fun to be had.

Blade Runner(1982)
What more can be said about Blade Runner?
I've seen Ridley Scott's film hundreds of times and I never get tired of it,for me its a masterpiece and one of the most important films ever made.

The Beastmaster(1982)
Conan meets Dr Dolittle as Marc Singer talks to the animals in this enthusiastic sword and sorcery adventure,a cheerful revenge saga piled high with macho heroics, witches, sorcerers, warrior hordes, flesh eating monsters and barely dressed slave girls.Even though its all played straight,as a viewer this isn't to be taken seriously. When it comes to "borrowing" ideas from other films and directing without such elements as subtlety and character development,Don Coscarelli is guilty as charged.Look past that and enjoy some wonderfully staged swordplay and action. Also having the beautiful Tanya Roberts in it is a good touch.

Deer Woman(2005)
The very beautiful Cinthia Moura stars as the deadly Deer Woman of Native American mythology, with a strong turn from disbelieving detective Brian Benben on her trail.A very enjoyable film directed by John Landis which was released to little fanfare.
