Something like Hadrian/Berlin wall.

Can we have it north of Watford please? Far too much blue on that BBC hexagons thing down there. Wink

Thanet to be withdrawn from the EU Bounce.

That means Thanet will now want independence!!! While we are at it, why don't we all lobby our councils and make them ask the government for independence? That would save us all having to vote in government every five years or something? That would save a lot on waste of paper the election cost!! Tongue

^There is something kind of similar to that in the offing by way of where councils pool resources for better efficiency, to counteract some of the loss of funding. I read somewhere that it might result in super councils being formed. Which would make sense from a devolved/smaller government perspective.

RE: General Election Vote
Another reason I oppose proportional representation is because here's a scenario for you, what if the overwhelming population of Scotland votes to stay in the EU yet the English don't then we don't stand a chance which makes a hypocrisy out of the union and Democracy Important

Yes it was, you are correct on that one

Actually I wasn't, or 45% of the country would be independent. What I meant was, a clear majority got what they voted for, unlike in the general election.

So, do you think the SNP should now do a complete U-turn regarding their views on PR?

Or would that make them hypocrites?

You haven't answered the question.

RE: General Election Vote
@The Silent Majority the SNP don't have to do any sort of U Turn. Every situation merits a different set of rules which I have already pointed out to you. Also the SNP accepted the outcome of the Referendum vote so I fail to see exactly what your point is.

One is a vote for the entire United Kingdom and another is a vote for the residents of Scotland only.

No, they don't. And there's no indication yet that they have, or will.

I asked whether you thought they should, given that you oppose any form of PR.
