Point Break (1991) Directed by Kathryn Bigelow a film with cult status as FBI man Keanu Reeves infiltrates a surfer group who may be behind a series of heists in LA. Certainly one of Reeves' better performances, but he gets outshone by a charismatic turn from Patrick Swayze who gets some entertaining dialogue. The action scenes (the heists) and the cinematogaphy (the surfing) are excellent and there's top performances from Gary Busey, Lori Petty and John C McGinley 7.5/10

Soylent Green(1973)

A dystopia film directed by Richard Fleishcer in which Charlton Heston finds out that the green crackers being made in a factory have people inside them.Based on the novel Make Room!Make Room! by Harry Harrison.Interesting to note that this was Edward G Robinson's last film.

Maneater(2015)

A group of photographers find themselves as the prey of a genetically altered polar bear. With a great cast consisting of James Remar and Ray Wise the film is let down by a clichéd plot, terrible script and an unconvincing live action, animatronic bear.

Mama (2013) A couple played by Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau take care of his two young nieces who were alone in a forest for five years, but have they brought a supernatural being with them...? Despite the presence of Chastain its a pretty unoriginal horror movie, with plot holes in the first half too. 5/10

Pacific Rim is available on Amazon Prime, worth catching? I generally like scifi.

Mindless, drags a bit but good fun when the battle sequences get going with some amazing effects.Just don't expect anything intelligent.

Mad Love(1935)

Karl Freund directs this strange film that features a very creepy and unsettling performance by Peter Lorre as mad Dr.Gogol,a surgeon obsessively in love with Yvonne Orlac(Frances Drake).A wild story of crazed love and hand transplants?
This is the first adaptation on film of Maurice Renard's story The Hands of Orlac[Les Mains d'Orlac.1920]

Brotherhood Of the Wolf(2001)

Christophe Gans directs and co wrote this wonderful film based on tales told between 1764 to 1767 about The Beast Of Gevaudan. The beast reportedly is said to have killed one hundred woman and children during this time. The film then deviates from the legend and adds a new dimension involving a conspiracy by a secret cult, whom we find out are connected to the beast that is terrorising the countryside. The direction changes again when two warriors are sent in to slay the beast in a unexpected climax. It becomes a martial arts action fest but doesn't lose any of its appeal. With Vincent Cassel,Monica Belluicci,Emilie Dequenne and Mark Dacascos.
