RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
Its odd that the HMV online is still down and yet the Blockbuster online is still running and yet the debts are being sorted out by the same people. No HMV bargains for me they've closed all the nearest stores to me anyway Sad.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I highly recommend the blu ray steel book Blade Runner - The Final Cut, not only for me is it one of fav films but also a cult classic. The steel book comes in a white finish, you get a great image on the front of steel book and also on the back and there's art work from a scene from the film on the inside. As for the picture quality its a big improvement over the dvd version, as always a 1080p transfer, the transfer has been remastered and digital restored. There is a little grain here and there but its not shock seeing as its a old film but very impressive never the less. The Sound quality is excellent a 5.1/DTS mis as with the picture the sound has been remastered and again very impressive. As for the extras its like the previous release theres a few extra's here but this time you get a ultra-violet copy of the film.
The only down side with the blu ray is that you only get the 2007 final cut version of the film, were as the 5 disc ultimate collectors edition dvd tin box set had five versions of the film (which i still have) and the 30th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition blu ray boxset has the other cuts on the film, but apart from that its still worth picking up as i got mine at one point for £9.95 and i've seen it for as high as £22 on some sites. Still worth picking up if you can get ot for a good price, a fan of the film and a steel book collector.

They got this on line in sainsburys for 8.99, which i thinks a snip. It now has it's power back, they corrected the colour and has a new comentery.

Game of Thrones season 2. The first series was enthralling. Season 2 just builds on this. In many ways its far subtler than series one. Loads of extras and fantastic sound and picture quality. I struggle with TV series normally but this is quality. Keeps you on your toes with sudden plot twists and changes.

Alcatraz the complete series. get all 13 episodes over 2 discs along with a documentary about alcatraz itself and the series along with deleted scenes and an outake reel. well worth watching even though it got cancelled and no 2nd series which for me was a shame

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I highly recommend the Blu Ray's Blade 2 and Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince. I loved Blade 2 great film, as always with blu ray transfers you get a 1080p transfer. The picture quality for the most part is crystal clear, there are parts of the film where grain does show up but nothing to much to spoil the film, the transfer isn't as good as first one but its well worth the upgrade if you have the dvd version. The colours look deep and rich especially with most of the film being set at night. The sound quality is massive improvement especially with the amazing soundtrack that goes along with the film and feel the full benefit you gotta have it hooked up to a home cinema system. As for extras theres decent amount them available on the disc. Those of you clued up on the Blade 2 will know that the film featured Danny John-Jules aka Cat from Red Dwarf, Norman Reedus aka Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead, Donnie Yen who would go on to play 1P Man and Ron Perlman who would then go on to play Hellboy along with actor Karel Roden who also starred in Blade 2 and would go on to play the bad guy in the first Hellboy.
I was late in the day in watching any of Harry Potter films i watched the first two never liked them, i watched some of the latter ones and really enjoyed them so i've started collecting them but not in order. I gotta say i was very impressed with the transfer of Half Blood prince, its a crystal clear transfer making the special effects really shine, there wasn't a ounce a grain i was really impressed but how good it looked, The sound quality was really good too a full 5.1/DTS transfer again very impressive. As for extra's there's a tons here along with a dvd and Digital copy of the film. I managed to pick this up brand new for just over 3 quid, i just got The Order of The Phoenix which i will review at another date and i have a couple more on the way. Highly recommend these blu rays in your collection.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I really highly recommend the blu ray steel book End of Watch, not only is a great looking steel book but also a very graphic and moving film. You have a great image of the actors on the front and back of the steel book and theres also inside art work of the actors over all a very impressive looking steel book. As always you get a full 1080p transfer of the film and boy does it look great, no grain on the transfer, dark colours look deep ad rich and really stand out especially in daytime and night scenes of the film was blown away and impressed with the transfer. As for sound amazing you would benefit from having a home cinema system especially with hearing people and bullets in the background almost sounds like your actually there as always a 5.1/DTS mix again along with the picture quality very impressive.
As for extras theres a good handful of extras here including a alternate ending and only with the steel book version of this film you get a dvd copy of film, the only thing disappointing was no digital copy like its region one counter part.
If your a big fan of cop films then this is a must to the in your collection whether its the steel book or normal version of blu ray
