Catch Me If You Can (2002) A Spielberg directed bio in which Tom Hanks as a FBI agent chases a conman called Frank Abagnale Jr played by Leonardo DiCaprio who while posing as a pilot, then a doctor & then a lawyer, passes fraudulent cheques and makes millions. Richly entertaining with fine lead performances( there is a grudging respect between FBI man & conman which is nicely portrayed) & good support from Amy Adams, Christopher Walken & Nathalie Baye 7.5/10

Blood From the Mummy's Tomb(1971)

Seth Holt directs another Hammer film involving a Mummy and reincarnation. This time the very beautiful Valerie Leon impresses in the duel role of Margaret Fuchs and the ancient Egyptian Queen Tera.Pretty standard stuff in terms of the scares but Valerie Leon's charismatic performances save the film from being a disaster.

Available (2016) A low budget espionage type film starring and directed by Les Mahoney with some offbeat, quirky moments and interesting soundtrack, but let down by some flat acting and a shaky script and storyline. 5.5/10

Lord Of The Manor(1935)

A well directed and wonderfully shot drama about two aristocrats who are engaged to be married but both end up falling in love with people from a lower class.Brilliantly acted by Frederick Kerr and Betty Stockfeld, with a strong performance from Henry Wilcoxon.

High Sierra(1941) Humphrey Bogart plays a thief released from prison who is hired by his old boss to help a group of inexperienced criminals plan and carry out the robbery of a California hotel. Bogie and Ida Lupino are excellent as lovers with support from Arthur Kennedy,Alan Curtis, Joan Leslie,Henry Hull, Henry Travers, Barton McLane and Cornel Wilde. The storyline occasionly slips into sentimentality but the script by John Huston & W R Burnett is generally well written, giving the cast a chance to shine 7/10

Twins of Evil(1971)

John Hough directs Mary and Madeline Collins, the beautiful identical twin Playboy Playmates in the third of the Karnstein trilogy from Hammer.Plenty of eye candy in terms of the twins but its Peter Cushing that shines as a fanitcal Puritan, eager to burn witches and stake vampires.

Assassins (1995) Directed by Richard Donner who did the Lethal Weapon films, Stallone puts in a dull performance as an older hitman whose targets get hit by a new guy on the block (Antonio Banderas) . Banderas puts in a more charismatic performance however the character is annoying and unpleasant. An overlong (2 hours plus) battle ensues involving shooting and car chases but not a lot of interest apart from the odd clever moment involving the hits. Also starring Julianne Moore. 4.5/10
