RE: Wuhan Open
Really looking forward to the final.
Both have played really well to this point.
Let's hope they can reproduce the same form in the final.

Xiao Guodong is like granite! he won 3 of the 4 tight frames, and made a 129 break to surpass Si's 109 break. 6-3 to Guodong at the end of the first session.

RE: Wuhan Open
Xiao Guodong, 35 years of age, 17 years a professional, wins his first ranking tournament, beating Si Jiahui 10-7.

Xiao carried on in the 2nd session where he left off in the 1st to go 9-4 up. Then Xiao went into his shell and Si Jiahui came out of his to reel off 3 frames with fantastic fluent snooker, including a fantastic 131 break, to close the gap to 9-7. He was even 46-nil up in frame 17, but then the granite snooker came back and Xiao ground out the frame and won it on the brown to claim the title.

RE: Wuhan Open
Yeo fair play to Xiao for getting it done.
He stifled his opponent for long enough to build a lead and eventually got over the line.
I can see both men winning multiple tournaments in their careers.

Weird to suppose that Xiao has been around so long, I wouldn't have put a figure on it that high. Saw some of the last frame on Eurosport this evening, Xiao was getting a bit clobbered on commentary, but that snooker behind the green was a beauty, and Si rightly tapped the table about a dozen times in response. Well done, not least for being another name taken off the "best player not to win a ranking title yet" list Wink

I don't know what to make of this one. Maguire beat Zhao Xintong 5-4. In the decider, Xintong potted frame ball but cannoned the brown ball in the pocket putting the frame back on for Maguire. Maguire duly made a 45 clearance to win on the black.

Reanne Evans lost to Tom Ford. Thepchaiya's still going, he beat Scott Donaldson 5-2. Si Jiahui beat Jackson Page. Wins for Judd, Higgins, Mark Selby, Mark Williams, Mark Allen, Xiao Guodong, and sadly Hawkins beat Jak Jones 5-3.
