RE: Andy Murray
Tough tie against the French too even though some of the France top players look like being unavailable as well. France have a fair bit of strength in depth.
Murray is a big miss.

RE: Andy Murray
It will be tough without Andy but hopefully but if French are going to miss some of their top players too they won't make it easy anyway
Just hope Evens and co are still in form I reckon it could boil down to that doubles match

RE: Andy Murray
Sorry to say it but think Great Britain are shot without Mr Murray, they have had their day in the sun winning cup last time..

RE: Andy Murray
A clay court indoors in Rouen presents enough challenges for British players as it is, but the main factor of this tie is the fact that France have arguably the best strength in depth of any Davis Cup nation.

With Murray it would have still been a difficult tie. I'd love us to get through to a semi final again and even repeat the Davis Cup success of 2015, but I think it's a tough ask. I've seen Britain prevail in difficult away ties before and I've seen us lose ties away before, and both of those things have happened with Murray playing.

I hope I'm wrong, but I reckon France to win this comfortably 4-1.

RE: Andy Murray
In his two matches at Roland Garros so far, Andy has struggled to hit top form. He's showing plenty of battling qualities, indeed he's had to, so that's a good sign. But it's not the Andy Murray that we're used to seeing win early rounds easily in grand slams.

Juan Martin Del Potro represents a step up in quality of opposition in the third round. The Argentine is arguably still a top 6 player when he's on his best form and has caused Andy no end of problems in the past. So you'd think that Del Potro has the edge here, especially on a clay court where Murray's form has been woeful in 2017.

However, I don't think that will be the case. I think Murray will be up for this and will be fully focused. I'm hoping that a far superior quality of opponent will bring the best out in Murray's game. It will give him that challenge that I think Murray craves and I think he'll be able to move Del Potro around and dictate the rallies. If the rumours about Del Potro carrying another injury are true, Murray should be able to exploit his lack of movement.

I'm backing Murray to use this challenging match as a platform to kick-start his 2017 season.
