Ghostbusters 2016, firstly wanna point out that my review of isn't anything to do with them being women I don't have a problem with genders or races being changed as long as a movie is good.
First I would say the film is neither bad or good it just feels like average movie that your not gonna really remember over years. With the original 1984 film there still classic films which you still remember classic scenes like like Ray calling Peck dickless and venkman saying it's true the guy has no dick and he says "well that's what I heard" or the other classic scene where Venkman talks about Dana:
Dr. Peter Venkman: She's not my girlfriend. I find her interesting because she's a client and because she sleeps above her covers... *four feet* above her covers. She barks, she drools, she claws! There are so many qutoes that are so funny and you remember them, are you a god?, then die, Ray if someone asks if your god you say yes lol.

The film starts off very well but after that it's trying to hard to tell a joke every two mins along with keep reminding you of the original, they should have either showed the film passing on the torch or made the film totally different to the original which is what I would have done. The film for me just wasn't funny and there's a fart joke they say and it's really crude.
Men in the film put across as thick as fuck especially the Chris Hemsworth his put across like his totally thick and dumb but even worse then dumb the only saving grace is it shows Hemsworth can being comedic.
You can tell the main cast are having fun together but again there's nothing stand out with there characters Leslie Jones surprised me as the trailers and tv spot put her across that she would be over the top which we know the trailers were badly cut and Sony and co attacking people for hating the film, the whole point in having a trailer is to sell the film to the viewer it's badly edited then of course people will hate it even tho you can judge a film till you see it. Kate McKinnon was way to over the top and goofy like a cartoon character, as for Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig were OK. The main villain had to be one of worse villains I have seen in a movie his just upset nerd where's the motivation, or the drive to be truly evil and ruthless your not gonna remember at all no development into his character or his end goal. What they did with slimer was just laughable. What I do think was great was the effects for the proton packs and the effects for the streams but they fuck up what the proton packs do in the final battle totally contradict what the devices do and explain what the proton packs do but they something else. There 2 end credits one with Hemsworth which was just totally silly and cheesy and the very last one end credit which sets up the sequel again not great as its feeding off the original again. All in all average at best not as bad as the trailers made it out to be but I'll happily stick to the original and Ghostbusters 2 which wasn't as good as the first one mainly to do with the real ghostbusters cartoon so it was toned for kids.
What was great about the original is that it played the film serious with a mixture of sci fi, action, horror and the right mixture of humour all tho Ghostbusters 2 lost a lot of that it was still very enjoyable if you took it fit what it was, both films scared me even number two with the titanic coming back and ghosts walking off, the fur coat coming to life and the ghost jogger abs not forgetting the severed heads in the subway which they cut that scene on tv. I'll the reboot credit for the introducing the 4th ghostbusters a lot sooner into the film, giving them more to do and screen time it's the only small problem the original had which the remake does better. 5/10.
