I highly recommend the blu ray steel book Starship Troopers a classic film from Robocop and Total Recall director Paul Verhoeven. Had to pick up this steel book from Zavvi as with a special code you got 4 quid off the price.
First of all its a nice looking steel book theres a decent image on the front and back of the steel book and inside art work with a scene from the film all tho it is a little dark, the title on the front of steel book is debossed giving it a nice finish.
The picture quality is stunning, you get a 1080p finish and the film looks detailed and crisp it all most looks like a film from today i never had this even on dvd but i imagine that is worth upgrading to blu ray.
The sound quality is equally as impressive and as always a 5.1 cinema system sound and well benefits from having this played through a home cinema system.
Theres a handful of extras not a lot really, would have loved if it had a digital copy of the film, there is a uncut version of the film but its only available on region 1. This steel book is a Zavvi exclusive.

Already did a review of this a while ago and that is Iron Man 3 on blu ray, but i ordered the steel book version of the film but this one is a little different as i ordered the German version of the steel book as a seller on Amazon Uk was selling it for just over 13 pounds. It has different art work to UK Zavvi exclusive you get a image of Tony Stark/Iron Man on the front cover and art work on the back of steel book and also inside art work from the in the inside, the only disappointing thing is that it has a blue blu ray banner on the front top of the steel book which usually the blue banner is on slip card and it would have been nice if it had been given a gloss finish but all in all i really like and that price you can't go wrong with it. Even tho its German you very easily change the audio into english, here's a link to it on Amazon if any one is interested its currently £14.18 plus £1.26 postage and packing. Just waiting for my German blu ray steel book of back to the future part 2 to turn up.

Got two new steel books today, the first one is a German import and its of the movie Back To The Future Part 2 had pick this up as am a massive Back To The Future Fan, i already have the blu ray Collectors tin of the trilogy which at the time i paid £60 for and its worth over 300 pounds now. You get art work on the front of steel book it looks great The picture is stunning you wouldn't believe that the film is over 20 years old now , as always you get a 1080p transfer and not a grain in sight and with the stunning upgrade to blu ray the special effects in the film look just as good as the films. Sound quality you get a 5.1/DTS sound transfer and again its stunning. As for extras theres a whole load to watch even how they did the hover board scenes , only thing i would have loved to have got is a digital copy all tho they've released the trilogy again but with digital copies. Being as this is German the menu and everything else is in english its just it says the title of the film in German.
Second steel book i got was X-Men 2, one of my fav film and possibly my fav X-Men, well until X-Men: Days of Future Past comes out. first of all the art work on the front of steel book is stunning, the title is embossed giving it a 3D loo, the art work on the back looks stunning too and theres inside art work from the film too.
The picture quality is stunning, every looks crystal clear, no grain either and colours look deep and rich and as always a 1080p transfer. The sound quality is impressive you get a 5.1/DTS transfer and the film sounds stunning. As for extras there's good few here but what would have loved to have seen is a digital copy. So if your a big fan of bother films then its well worth picking them both up.

Gotta recommend The Karate Kid remake i was lucky enough to be in HMV and they it as a double play steel book. You get really nice art work on the front and back and get a great pic in the inside of steel book from a scene in the film. The picture quality as always is 1080p and picture is pretty much perfect no grain or any fuzziness in any of the images especially during the fight scenes in the film. The sound quality just as impressive too you get a 5,1/DTS transfer and it really shows in the fight scenes when you hear every blow someone is being hit. Extras there's a good handful here, if you get the steel book version then you also get a dvd copy of the film, there's a standard version where you only get the disc and theres a triple version also available where you get the blu ray, dvd and digital copy of the film. But which every version you get its well worth having it in your collection.

If anyone fancies adding a few films to their collection, blockbuster have a lot of decent titles in their closing down sale. I picked up the new Spiderman movie complete with a limited edition comic book for £3.50 along with Priest for £1.80 and Immortals triple play edition for £3.50.
If you like robots then i highly recommend the film Pacific Rim, The picture is simply just stunning not a grain in sight and crystal clear. The colours on screen just pop out of the screen your getting the full 1080p experience on this film. Sound quality just as impressive you get here a 5.1/DTS transfer and when you have this hooked up to a home cinema system you here everything. As for extras theres a ton here which comes on a second blu ray disc as its a two disc blu ray plus you get a digital copy of the film. Its also available as a steel book and also as a 3D version and at £12.99 at most supermarkets its well worth the money.

Got this yesterday too. I got the 3D version which was just £16 in Tesco which is really good price for a 3d bluray and comes in a nice slip case which depending on how your looking at it either has Gypsy Danger on it or a Kaiju monster
