They'd have to poison everything. Flight crew eat different meals to reduce the risk of food poisoning.
If the meals were spiked, it would need to be something that worked very quickly to stop them getting a Mayday out.

Sounds like another dead end to me.

Yes I think this is clutching at straws now. I'd say looking at food poisoning is just part of a policy of leaving no stone unturned.

Food poisoning may be one of the least likely explanations put forward, but I believe it's prudent to examine every possibility, however unlikely, otherwise I can see no way of ever solving this mystery.

Exactly. The current position seems to be as follows.

1) Last radar sighting saw the plane flying northwest. There are no radar sightings from Diego Garcia and Australia to confirm that the plane turned south.
2) No seismic activity was recorded, even though the recording devices used are sensitive enough to register even the slightest tremor and also any plane crash.
3) No debris has been located, despite over 100 ships and planes being involved in the search at the area of the Indian ocean indicated by the southern route.
4) Despite the above 3 points Inmarsat have found with methods never used before that the plane flew south and this has largely been accepted as fact.

Inmarsat are not the enemy here, if that's what you're implying. In fact so far they are the only organization who have provided any useful information whatsoever to the search.

But think about this babelover48, on the ground means a plane that no passenger from any other plane using the airport can be allowed to see, a plane that no airport worker can be allowed to see, and an airport with a suitably long runway and a secure jumbo jet size hangar. That rules out any civilian airports, large or small, and leaves you with few military bases in the region.

This is a great story and is clearly absorbing the world's attention, and while we're all conveniently being pointed the other way, Putin looks set to start the next war by 'taking back' Belarus, the Baltic states and Finland.

I thought that would be a dead end, because in the scenario that the captain was responsible I believe it would be because he flipped out in some way and not because he was following a long standing plan he'd been practicing on his simulator.

The passengers have all been cleared too, according to the Malaysian police, and that includes the 2 Iranians on stolen passports. None are suspected of involvement in anything untoward. The dead ends are piling up.

That may be so, but their calculations have not led to the plane's location, so up to this point have not been helpful.
