RE: ICC Cricket World Cup 2011
The batsmen scored so many runs due to weakness of the opposition attacks, Holland and ireland have appalling attacks and India have the weakest bowling side of all the major cricket nations. Englands bowling is abysmal, they lack, confidence, ability and bottle. I watched the game yesterday and not one of them seemed capable of pitching the ball up, they just bowled short or length deliveries. Strauss is a good test captain as he does not have to be pro active in the field, but in the limited overs game, he is out of his depth, unable to think on his feet and control the situation. Making excuses about poor fielding and dropped catches is a complete joke. Swann was on TV today saying they could still win the world cup! what F****** planet is he living on. South Africa will murder them on sunday..

The whole team should be sent home in disgrace.

Ireland beating England is not such a big shock as it's being made out to be. After all Ireland beat Pakistan at the last world cup and they were close to beating Australia as recently as last summer.

A man after my own heart although sending them home is a bit much, but would save any more embarrassment
I don't blame Flower or Strauss even though they pick the team.Once again I blame Geoff Miller for giving them such limited options and the structure and fixture list once again the ICC and money have destroyed our hopes.

Of course ireland beating england is not such a big shock, the whole team is a total disgrace. Non of them should ever be allowed to represent their country again.

If you want to see how to deal with rubbish sides, please take a look at the rest of the world cup results.

Almost lost to Holland
Tied with India, could have won with better control
Lost to Ireland, embarrassing but not the end.If they some how beat South Africa on Sunday I'll reconsider my opinion

yeah the holland game was bad, but the india game we could of lost as well as won so the tie werent so bad. and the ireland game was a one in a life time innings and a few dropped catches, still can recover from it i think.

RE: ICC Cricket World Cup 2011
When it comes to my beloved england cricket team, i have very high standards and expectations. We are talking about a side rated number 3 in the test world rankings, rated 5 in the one day rankings. 3 of the bowlers in that side are currently ranked in the worlds top 12, two of them in the top 5. I saw the look on strauss,s face when things were going wrong, he just had no idea what to do and the bowlers completely lost their discipline, unable to cope with the pressure.

There is no excuse for that sort of performance.

The current associate countries have got 22 ODI wins between them against test playing nations, so I agree Ireland's victory is not that much of a shock. England must start holding their catches though, as 2 dropped catches at the end of Ireland's innings were decisive in the end.

the strauss drop of o brian on 91 was the difference maker, england would of won if he holds that catch

RE: ICC Cricket World Cup 2011
Zimbabwe 162 all out off 46.2 overs

New Zealand 166/0 off 33.3 overs

New Zealand won by 10 wickets

Zimababwe got off to a poor start by losing 5 wickets for just 46 runs however useful contributions from the lower order boosted the score to 162 although that is a modest score. New Zealand Openers both scored half centuries and outplayed Zimbabwe in all departments.

Bangladesh 58 all out off 18.5 overs

West Indies 59/1 off 12.2 overs

West Indies won by 9 wickets

Bangladesh got off to a awful start and never really recovered as for the West Indies well it was just plain sailing really.
