RE: County Championship 2021
Considering the weather, 4 positive result were possible from the 8 matches, & all these wins were by large margins. After gaining their first Championship victory since 2018, Nottinghamshire have backed that up with a win against the favourites Essex.

Sky are to continue to cover the Championship with steamed pictures & their own commentators. Next game will be a re-match of the Root brothers, as Yorkshire visit Cardiff. Last time we saw Joe brought on to bowl when his brother Billy was in the nineties. luckily for their parents, Billy got to his ton. Joe later admitted that he would've had mixed feelings if he had hit Billy on the pads.
I believe that the Roses match at Old Trafford is on the schedule.

They need to contribute to the cost of the stream feed then. Can't ride piggy back on the counties efforts and investment, given their standing and financial clout! I remain to be convinced that they intended to show the CC this early, or much at all this season.

^^ The next round is already on the planner, but with no match details. Expect - May 13-16 - Glamorgan v Yorkshire, May 20 - 23 Surrey v Middlesex, & May 27 - 30 Lancashire v Yorkshire. This covers the period that the IPL would've run to (May 30 final) & fits in nicely before the England v New Zealand Test on June 2.
For all we know they may well be paying for the feeds. I could be wrong here but I thought that the ECB funded the live county cricket streams, & Sky have an existing deal with the ECB the cover England Internationals.

That is what I thought! Convenience not commitment. The County game has been (particularly the CC) for too long undervalued/appreciated. Nice that England are giving the Kiwis much needed practice ahead of the WTC Final

Your right, about the Championship coverage by Sky, it is often only the last match of the season, sometimes they cover a couple. I've no way of checking but I can't remember as many as 3 matches shown, which wouldn't be a stretch in a 14 game season.

I checked, and it is the counties that fund their own feed and that Sky have used!! Jeez for a fraction of the IPL cost, they could put a few dollars/pounds in the kitty for a far superior product. When they showed up to 2 - 3 CC matches, they even prevented - I am 99% sure the counties involved from streaming. Gangsters (but I still pay so hypocrite?? maybe!!) The Counties could easily justify an access fee to their online feed. I would pay for multiple matches per season no bother.

If the price was right, I'd also be happy to pay. There's a market out there for it. They estimated that 2 million had watched the live stream & that was a while back. Not everyone can attend Championship cricket, especially with work commitments during the week. I few years ago, the average age of a Yorkshire member was something like 68 or 69. They are the ones that watch Championship cricket in the main & most wouldn't entertain going to a T20 match. Now the 50 over comp is basically a 2nd team tournament 4 day cricket is all they have. maybe not the place to debate this, but England become World No.1 ranked 50 over side, after being a joke. Then win the world cup & the next move is, that we remove the next generation of players away from our domestic 50 over comp. England's 50 over ranking has already dropped to 4th. The view is that playing in the new 100 comp will prepare these players, better ?? go figure.

1 I would too!!

2 I can't attend as I live across the stretch in NI

3 T20 is an abomination (maybe the 100 will be worse)

4 Don't hold any concern for England necessary, but agree with that

5 I agree re the 100
