RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I can't recommend this film enough and one of my all time fav films and that is Back To The Future and who didn't wanna be like Marty Mcfly lol, i picked up the german blu ray steel book of this film and its beautiful to look at. The art work on the front of the steel book is stunning its the same art work from the poster and it has a nice gloss finish. This being a german steel book the title is in german, you get a couple pieces of art work on the back and inside art work of forth coming steel books really had to get this one especially at the cheap price i got it for.
The picture as always is 1080p, and from a 1985 the film the transfer looks stunning, everything looks rich and highly detailed, with rich colours through the whole film and effects still stand up and look better then ever and even give the films now a run for there money. The sound quality is stunning you get a 5.1/DTS transfer and when you have this playing through a home cinema system the film sounds stunning. As for extras theres tons on the disc and theres re-release of trilogy in which you get a ultra-violet copies of each film, i already have the collectors edition of the trilogy and of course the german steel book of second film and i ordered the third film steel book from Amazon Germany so will review that when it arrives Smile.

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
Finally got my third steel book of Back To the Future Part 3 of course this one being the german version. The art work on the front looks stunning and even better that it comes in a gloss finish on the front, theres art work on the back too with art work in the inside with other blu ray films being shown.
What's great about this German import is that menu is in total english so with things like the audio you don't have to change it.
The picture quality as always is 1080p and the transfer is stunning the film doesn't look like its from 1990, everything is so crystal clear, the colours on screen look deep and rich making the film look beautiful.
Sound quality you get a 5.1/DTS transfer and the film sounds amazing and sounds better then ever. As for extras theres loads available on the disc, so glad i picked this up one of my all time fav films and one of my fav trilogies glad i have all of them. Plus its really cheap to order and post from Amazon Germany>

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
I highly recommend picking up the blu ray The Wolverine, the version i picked was the 3D version was because you get the Original cinema version and you also get the extended cut version which is only on the 3D version for some odd reason.
The picture as always is a 1080p transfer and it really shows that they have put the work in making the film look stunning. The picture quality is totally crystal clear with no sign of any grain, the colours look rich and deep giving the images a highly detailed finish as transfer goes it gets a 10 out of ten easily.
The sound quality is stunning you get a 7.1/DTS-HD sound transfer and it sounds stunning and you really have to have this hooked up to a home cinema system to get the real benefit from this film.
As for extras theres a whole load here you get 3 discs, first one being the film in 3D, on the second disc you get a a tour of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Alternate ending, the original film in 2D and couple extras, the third disc the extended cut in 2D and directors audio commentary. You also get a free Wolverine second screen app and a digital copy of the film as well. I was lucky enough to get it for nothing as i had vouchers.
There are other versions of the film available with the HMV steel book exclusive and a sainsburys exclusive where you get a second disc but only the original cut of the film on blu ray.

was £22.99 which I think is a really good price given that it is a steelbook, get 3 different versions of the film (3D, 2D and extended cut), digital copy and a very good amount of extras

RE: Blu Ray Recommendations
Got two steel books today first one being The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey Extended Edition 3D, i already have the normal cinema version as a steel book and i simply had to pick this Extended Edition. First all its a jumbo steel book housing five discs the first two have the film split in two in 3D, the third disc has the film in 2D and last two discs have the extras and unlike the extra discs on the Lord of The Ring films they came on blu rays not dvd thank god lol.
You get a nice art work on the front and back of the steel book no inside art work as its holding all five discs in place would have been nice to have the steel book with a gloss finish and embossed title but still a nice steel book all the same.
The picture quality is stunning as always a 1080p transfer and because it was filmed with digital cameras the film looks gorgeous every looking highly detailed and rich colours especially in dark scenes in the film, i can't rate the 3D version of the as i don't have a 3D Tv and am not really a big fan of 3D anyway but the picture gets a 10 out of 10 here.
The sound quality again is stunning you get a 7.1/DTS-HD sound transfer and its stunning again 10 out of 10 here. As for extras theres tons on offer over 9 hours worth over the 2 discs and you a digital copy of the film as well. Worth picking up even if you own the normal version of it and if you a big fan of the film.
The second film i wanna recommend is the classic film Planets of The Apes the original version with Chalton Heston, i got this from zavvi for £9.99 and it was lot more then a while ago. The steel boo comes in a nice gold finish and you get art work on the front and back with the title debossed and you also get art work in the inside of the steel book with a classic scene taken from the film.
The picture quality is a 1080p transfer but there is grain here and there i guess due to the age of the film but it does look really good on blu ray. As for sound quality you get a 5.1/DTS-HD sound transfer and it sounds really good, as for extras theres loads on offer here would have been nice to have a digital copy of the film that would have been a nice touch.
I also picked up The Mad Max Collection but will review that at a later date.
