The Home Office have no authority in such a matter. Any release would be a matter for the parole board and the courts.

If black, women, the disabled or gay people were victimised like the motorist there'd be an outcry.
What's next: 40mph on every motorway? All roads closed around schools? Deliveries only on odd date days? A ban on the use of motor vehicles on Sundays? End of post office deliveries to country addresses?
