^ The channels promote an environment of multiple evocative stimuli; they do so with a determined deliberation (despite occasional missteps). We are the targets, the marks. A receptive audience at best; an audience complicit in its own downfall at worst (given how often we patently ignore evidence of channel duplicity and exploitation).
A babe may not
care for what you are feeling but a savvy one certainly cares for what it can promote in you.
Insiders work to this knowledge of our psyche and culpability... First off, any babe is given relatively limited screen time, forming an exclusivity demand (meaning guys will often have to vye for a babe's attentions). An increasing prominence of private sessions does more of the same (the more privates there are, the more guys are encouraged to believe that's the only way to go). Then, payers are manipulated to see the channels' erotic and sensual outputs as mixed with the ready chance of reciprocal romance or at least a 'relationship' of heightened affection (incredulous it may be that so many punters see it that way but the evidence is there almost every time we venture on to chat). This heady mix makes for a hell of a lot of punter purchases that are mostly emotion led (i.e. ones of lesser rationality and logic than might otherwise be the case).
In promoting these things the shows also evocate one of the most primal forces going: Inter-male competition for the female; and thus are a stimulus to the manifestation of various jealously-type behaviours in chat and in terms of credit use (i.e. clicks for attention made not for the punter's own satisfaction
per se but to block/spoil other guys' access or for the purposes of 'sexual display' - look at the size of my wallet/spending power in essence
).
As you so rightly say ryuken, operators in the modern era have crafted their show formats and websites with these specifics of interaction in mind. The customer options therein are designed to push these buttons in a guy. (BS' leaderboards for tippers is indeed the prime example here, serving little other purpose
except to stimulate competition between punters.)
Pure and simple: Babeland is made up of tawdry glitter palaces designed to delude and befuddle the punter, and ultimately to fleece him of his coin. Its effectiveness in this can be hindered by insiders' abilities and/or a babe's self imposed restrictions on what she'll do at work but, it's for sure, they have a good feel for what drives their audience generally. Some of us might wish they were less cynical, played things straighter, but its virtually impossible to argue that, so far, there are more than enough guys falling for it to justify them playing it the way they do - at least from a business pov.
