We have a proud history of prosecuting Prime Ministers for illegal acts.

Yep, once he does leave, it'll be arise Sir Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, Order of the Garter KG?, because scummy PM's are rewarded. Good stuff Rolleyes

Will he grow a mullet though, surely that is the most important question ever asked in this thread? lol.

If I had a muck spreader I'd happily lend it to you. Watching someone die in a hail of bullets at the Downing Street gates would be awesome Friday night entertainment.laugh

Imagine a military coup in the UK 2022. Now that would be an interesting turn of events, spurred on by the masses marching on Whitehall and chaos and disorder rife, buildings on fire .. etc. But just wouldn't happen if it was raining - bloody English weather foiling national insurrection yet again (tongue-in-cheek, pure fantasy - stream of consciousness ad-lib; would never, ever happen in the UK. Not unless we had a government so contemptable that their utter ruthless contempt, flagrant corruption and bare-faced dishonesty was suddenly exposed behind their mask of mock-goodwill - .....oh, hang on..)

Joking aside, the government could do with some massive international event to divert attention from domestic difficulties. A war would do it

RE: The Dubious World of Boris Johnson
So the latest is that Sue Grey's report has had whole sections redacted. Evidence (maybe witness statements, photos) has led to an apparently serious police investigation, with the Met mindful that there is pressure on them to take this seriously because of a great deal of distrust that they might do a whitewash of it (well, they have abit of a reputation for this, haven't they just).

Murmurings are of a breaking of ranks. Backbencher and chair of the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Select Committee Tom Tugendhat, ex-army reservist who was very critical of the Afghanistan shambles, has come out and said he's willing to run against Boris Johnson in a leadership challenge. Becoming an outrider, it's a big indication that serious plotting is underway. Apart from David Davis, it is pertinent that some other senior backbenchers have been curiously quiet. The dramatic resignation of (now ex-) government spokesman Lord Agnew last week at end of his delivery of a statement in the chamber (after which he walked out) over the government's mishandling of fraudulent Covid business loans was a big moment too, and deserved more airtime on the news, but was blanked out by continual revelations around partygate.

Still 50/50 whether Boris will be forced out; even if one or two members of the cabinet resign which would be a disaster for the Clown Prince, I can see him continuing to dig his heels in, such is the dogged arrogance and utterly deluded self-centeredness of the man. History will judge how pigheaded with such a staggering level of intransigence he will be publicly exposed as having if he loses a vote of no confidence. All hinges on the Met investigation. We'll wait and see!

Shocking. He veers between 2 personas - the happy-go-lucky man-of-the-people clownish loveable rogue and the Churcillian-like statesman, but as I've said previously, behind the mask he is a clever calculating bastard, as he admits in this past interview and I'd say he's honed this skill in office to become an utterly ruthless, ultra cynical machiavellian master of obfuscation
