Silly me for forgetting us members have zero rights or input into the forum. I forgot it is an autocracy not a democracy and we all should feel lucky to be here.

Being true to the "straight talking" spirit of Scottishbloke, I don't mind saying that there are some things I won't miss. I won't miss the backseat moderating. I won't miss the belligerence masquerading as honesty -- it is possible to "talk straight" without being brazenly hostile. I won't miss the belief that an inflated post-count equates to some form of authority.

That said, I concede that the Forum will be a duller place for SB's absence.

On the subject of moderators, I will say this. I still struggle to believe that a Forum that is ostensibly about ogling hot women on TV is as civil and congenial as this. It shouldn't be. I've seen X-Factor forums degenerate into violent, racist, misogynistic tirades between the dim and the demented. That a forum dedicated to the finer points of televised soft core porn hasn't disappeared down a similar drain must be down to the way it is managed and moderated. Heavy handed? I've had the odd post deleted or banished to the twilight zone. But, by-and-large, I think the mods deserve a lot of credit for making this a decent corner of a hugely indecent Internet.

1,529,829 posts in 19,821 threads would suggest people have and still are, enjoying the right to post here and have been doing so for many years (how long has this forum been running exactly?)

Minus the thousands who have been banned or quit due to an enforced set of rules that they have no say in and no chance of debating. We are run by the wizard of oz. 'Admin' nobody knows who he/she/they are.

My idea that the mods are individually polled, was shot down. The only person who can judge them is 'admin' even though they have power over us and what we post. I think most of the mods do a fantastic job. The polls would confirm this i think in most cases.

Most privately owned forums are benevolent dictatorships. If you don't like it, the solution is in your own hands.

But no-one's died have they? You seem to be painting them as some persecuted victims of a cruel dictator.

From the limited time I've been on the forum, I've seen nothing I'd see as injustice and some bans and sin-bins have been metted out, unless you want to flag up any serious grievance that you feel admin has perpetuated or call the UN in for some on-line crimes against users of a soft core porn forum, what is the big deal?

Same thing happens across the internet any many other forums with admins who are just a name and avatar, why should this place be any different and have moderators publicly named or whatever.

The mods have made their position clear on how the site is run, so one can either live by those rules or leave because of them IMHO.

Probably not for much longer. As people i respect, people with original opinions leave, the desire to remain and read posts from guys who post hundreds of bland and thoughtless posts everyday makes me want to scream.

Reading this thread gives me a headache, I've been on here a year and a half and have no problems with moderators. Terrace and Skully in particular have always been welcoming to me when I've pmed them questions etc and have replied promptly.
