Ho Hum.
I'm not exactly the ideal target audience for this, but even so - if like me you haven't bought hook line and sinker into the Marvel Studios franchise it's a pretty indigestible watch and hard to buy into.

I get it's an impossible job to cram that many characters into a movie and explain all the nuances and back story to the uninitiated, but for a casual viewer like me who's only seen a couple of Iron Man films, the first Avenger film, a few Captain America ones and the odd Thor movie but not every single other Marvel film, it's frankly a bit a of a chore.

Some of the characters hardly seem to get a look in, I do wonder if this is partly to do with the sheer impossibility of including that many and giving them enough to do, and partly the availability of the actors concerned for what are frankly little more than bit parts for some of them.

But so much of these films are CGI now you probably don't actually need the actors visible at all, you only need their voices in honest truth, they might as well be cartoons as befitting their comic strip origins.

As a Scot, it was mildly amusing to see Vision getting battered about on the Royal Mile and destroying bits of St Giles Cathedral, but other than that it just seemed to be one big long series of set pieces trying to top each other, in search of an ending that does nothing more than try to set up a sequel.

Let me guess...nobody important is actually dead at all, and in the next film somebody's going to find a way to reverse time to resurrect them all : such a franchise is too lucrative to lose that many potential sequels / recurring characters after all ?
Are you crazy Surprised The marvel fanboys will come after you with a post like that Bounce

Storyville - Under the Wire

Documentary with interviews on journalist Marie Colvin and photographer Paul Conroy, expedition into Syria to cover the plight of civilians trapped in Homs.

Unlike the movie a private war this contains actual footage filmed by Paul Conroy and others with some dramatized recreations. It can be found on the iplayer under Storyville and is available for another 23 days.

Gripping and at times a hard watch but a MUST watch

If i could find a girl that had the looks of Gal Gadot, breasts of Sophie Mudd with Demi Rose's ass, the personality of Jessica Ennis, the grace of Kendall Jenner on the red carpet and then behind closed doors the raw sexual energy of Nicole Snow i'd know i was dead and gone to heaven, so i'll just take Demi Rose's ass and Nicole's sexual energy

Upgrade(2018)

A tech noir, cyberpunk action thriller starring Logan Mitchell Green,in superb form as a man left a paraplegic and a widower after a mugging
by a ruthless gang.Opting for an implant that allows his mind to control his broken body,he sets out for revenge.A clichéd premise but very well made, this is everything the silly 2014 RoboCop remake should have been.

7.5/10

Quarantine (2008)

Fireman Jay Hernandez and TV news reporter Jennifer Carpenter are among the survivors of a deadly virus outbreak and find themselves battling zombie carnage inside a quarantined apartment block. A jumpy horror told through found footage camcorder style adds to the panic one would associate with this genre of film. It almost becomes a twisted game of guess which of the residents of the apartments is gore fodder next and there are some predictable twists that horror fans will guess straight away. That being said, there remains enough thrills and shivers to just about maintain the interest to the end. 7/10

A Wrinkle In Time(2018) very good Disney film starring Storm Reid as a girl who misses her lost father and then has the opportunity to find him again. I won't spoil it for you but its very good and Mindy Kaling, Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey are very good as the 3 Misses. Good effects too.

Pacific Rim Rising, the sequel to Pacific Rim originally started Idris Elba and now John Boyega as his son. Both are soldiers who will battle with other robots and monsters. In the original film Elba is in charge of a bunch of soldiers who save the world from giant monsters called Kaiju by operating giant robots. In this sequel, Boyega is the son of Elba who has become a thief and not interested in being a soldier but his sister gets him off a charge by having him enlist as a Ranger and to train new recruits. I won't reveal the plot but after a time it begins to take off and there are some good Transformer-like effects and some thrilling scenes. Worth a watch on a wet day.

A Wrinkle in Time 2/10 - decent special effects but otherwise a dreadful film.

Uprising was typed but for some reason my keyboard missed it.
LEGO DC Super Heroes-2 films one called Cosmic Blast and the other Gotham Breakout. Both brilliant, hilarious(loads of jokes to go over kids heads) and action packed. Shown on SKY LEGO channel but now changed to Animation channel 305.
