Home Front - 7/10. Typical Statham action flick, with a bit of family stuff chucked in for good measure.

Girls Trip - 8.5/10. Funny stuff, great cast, I have to say, I adore Tiffany Haddish.

Seen Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings today as well and fully agree, it was awesome from start to finish and for me one of the better MCU films which ties in especially to Iron Man 3 and also hints at what's to come in the MCU in the post credit scenes, 1 partway through the credits and 1 at the very end

9/10

Oddly got into Star Trek again, cos iTuned did a deal on the first 6 feature films for £18.

I found Motion Picture unwatchable when I first saw it in early 80s. This was the first time I ever tried to re-watch it and found I could appreciate it more than I could as a kid. Still slow and ponderous, but some interesting ideas, the music is sensational, and it has a neat payoff at the end.

Wrath of Kahn - Awesome. Gets better with age. The best one.

Search for Spock - Didn’t hate it.

Voyage Home - Good fun.

Final Frontier - Shit.

Undiscovered Country - Second best one. Great send-off for the original cast.

Tomb Raider - 2018 Netflix

Alicia Vikander (Lara Croft) & bit of hottie too goes looking for her father on an island (Yamatia - something like that) and falls off stuff, climbs stuff, gets shot at, gets slapped about a bit and does a couple of puzzles

Basically the movie version of Tomb Raider videogame re-boot

Pretty decent: 7/10

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

I agree with others who gave this a positive review. There is still some life left in the Marvel machine.

Well-paced, well-acted, not too earnest, but not too cute. It’s a standalone origin story, but the way it weaves its way into the wider Marvel universe is quite subtle and elegant.

The three big action sequences in the first half of the movie were the highlight for me. It gets a little CGI-happy toward the end, but I guess that’s to be expected nowadays.

If this is the standard, then I guess I’m up for Phase IV.
