The Washington Post is reporting that, according to people familiar with the investigation, the FBI were looking for documents pertaining to nuclear weapons.

In 2016, the Trump said: “You see the mob takes the Fifth. If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

This week he was giving evidence the the New York attorney general where he chose his right to invoke the Fifth Amendment.

actually that would make sense its the saudis im guessing the russians dont need the nukes or information and with Iran after a nuke then the saudis will have to have one

^Effectively he could not only charged with Espionage could he also be charged with treason? (Wonder if that carries the death penalty?) If the papers were top secret/classified documents that should been sent to the National Archive, surely they must have known something was wrong if papers never arrived in the first place. My only other question is - who authorized the FBI raid?


I hope they find a nice solitary cell for him with no elerctricity or natural light, better still bung him in Alcatraz!!

Quite an astonishing interview on CNN last night with NY Times journalist Maggie Haberman (who is to the Trump Admin as Pippa Crerar is to Johnson). She advances an alternate reason for Trump taking the nuclear documents.

Like it or not Trump is an individual of great wealth & status (though not as much as he thinks) and he likes to have collectables that allow him to back that up. Pre- presidency whilst still at Trump Tower he used to take people round his office showing these items off, one of which was Shaquille O'Neal's shoe. When President he used to do the same with dignataries & journalists that came to the Oval Office, the main piece was that lettet from Kim Jong-Un, he used to wave it around.

Haberman suggest, while not discounting more nefarious means, that he took those documents to Mar-a-lago because he wants to show them off to visitors, trinkets/momentos of when he was President of the Unuted States. She goes further suggesting that the President's motive for taking such documents can be summed up in one word: "Mine"

As a side note the anchor, Anderson Cooper, told a story of when he went to interview Trump at his home in his New York Tower, years ago before he ran for President that he was given similar tour which included a painting, Two Sisters on The Terrace by Renoir. Trump claimed that was the original, despite the original being on display at an art gallery in Chicago since 93. Cooper took out his phone to look up the painting and described it as a bad copy that was obviously different but when he showed it to him and told him the original was in Chicago, Trump maintained that that was the original.

Looks like the FBI finally got him by the short n curlies his lawyer wouldn't let FBI open any boxes in a Mar-a-Lago storage room in June.
