England's passing tonight was terrible /sloppy. But although Denmark did deserve something from the match they had the lucky break. They had a shot which hit the post and bounced in, we had a simular shot which deflected away.

Tonight will be the end of the Alexander Arnold experiment in midfield, and i'd like to see Anthony Gordon and Cole Palmer in the team next Tuesday.

I doubt Southgate will make changes next Tuesday & I wonder just how easy we'll make it for Slovenia We may be top now but looking at other teams who might make it through I bet most of them will fancy their chances of exploiting our set up and the way we play. The subs who came on last did very little in the time they had to change things, but Southgate needs to let them off the leash and play their natural game.

Southgate should not be anywhere a pro football league side again and should look at management in the non league set up where he might win something. There also needs to be a clear out at the FA and men in place who can revolutionise football at international level. But who can replace Southgate and get us playing a far better brand of football that makes us exciting to watch? Where's Mike Bassett when we need him!????

As an Italophile England supporter, this is normally the stage in the process where I wistfully compare England to Italy and wish that we were more like the latter.

In fact, I already did that after the first round, which they both won, but where England seemed to be frantically “hanging on” in the second half, while Italy seemed to simply “downshift” into a lower gear.

Today, I feel different. England has problems, but there is depth in the squad, table position, and tactical riddles that are fixable. I still think they have the latent quality to step-up and grow into the tournament.

By contrast, Italy just got spanked by Spain yesterday. They simply don’t seem good enough to win this tournament.

difference between italy and england you know when push comes to shove they will show up on the big stage because they have done it before

Southgate really pisses me off he is blind to what almost everyone else can see he was moaning because he had no replacement for Kalvin Phillips if you dont you change your fucking system and style to the players you have if you were to ask every other manager there if they would kill for even half the england team the majority would prob say yes

least past england managers have had the excuse of players missing thru injury apart from maybe Mcguire who else would really be in the team

and you know the clowns at the FA will have secretly offered him a multi year new deal

Least i can always use my German heritage to get far into the tournament again its been a god send the last 40 years

As for England from my perspective, I didn't go into this making them favourites that's for sure so it's kind of the norm really regardless of what players we have. Anyway they'll probably win by two or three Tuesday and we'll all be optimistic again because after all....we still believe...right?

This thread is hysterical, Southgate is the 2nd most successful England manager after Ramsey. For so called football fans to rant that he should be sacked and not allowed to manage again at the top level is stupid juvenile shite. I'd suggest they take a look in the mirror.

Southgate is right about Philips and we don't have anyone else in his mold. We have 3 problems as I see it

1/ Left Back. Trippier has done well but his lack of a left foot means we lose momentum in any attack down the left

2/ Midfield pivot alongside Rice. Alexander Arnold has done his best but it's not his natural position and it shows. I'd move Bellingham there and Foden into the centre to play in front of him.

3/ Centre Forward. Kane is struggling up front on his own. Put Gordon in from the start to play on the left with a mission to get up alongside Kane and provide support to Kane for the press. Tell Kane to play higher up the field to occupy opposition centre backs
