Interesting that Gaetz got offered his job, and resigned instantly, just as this ethics report was about to be released. His resignation rendered the report redundant. Almost like it was planned that way to bury the truth!

That's entirely possible in his case. They really don't like him on Capitol Hill.

If he hadn'r resugned and the repurt had come out how much damage would have been done to Teump's administration before he even took office by it? And how quickly would the US press woild have called for his resignation?

Wouldn't have done any damage at all to Trump, remember, convicted felon, sex offender, yet still elected President. Press opinion is irrelevant, MAGA clearly don't care.

Matt Gaetz has withdrawn his name from consideration to become the Attorney General by apparently claiming his nomination was becoming a distraction to the Trump administration taking effect.

Jumped before he was pushed as apparently he would have has his nomination rejected/not confirmed in the senate. Reportedly loads of republicans were going to vote against his nomination

I wouldn't be surprised if he nominated Nigel Farage for the job of his Atttorney General lol

Many people have been speculating that Gaetz was never a serious nomination, but was designed to be a distraction from some of the other 'dubious' picks.
Be interesting to see if some of the attention now pivots onto those picks instead, or has the sleight of hand done its job.
