RE: Babestation One to encrypt?
First of all, I can totally understand why most people are sceptical about any potential new channel... There have been promises made by others in the past, that have not worked out for various reasons, so it's understandable. I am well aware of the possibility of an "epic fail" with any new channel. As long as all concerned are aware of any potential pitfalls, and don't blindly believe in the project, then there is more chance of success than failure.

Make no mistake, in the last couple of years I have done a lot of research into most aspects of the UK adult industry. From my point of view, there is no intention of trying to change or interfere with any existing format. It would be pointless... There wouldn't be enough to bring to the table, that generally hasn't already been tried or done, to make it worthwhile. Most of the other formats are fine as they are and will still serve their purpose, whether it be phone sex, webshows, hardcore porn, etc.

What I have planned is an "alternative form of adult entertainment". The vision and basis of the plan is in place... However, like with scripts for films, there may be some tweaks/adjustments necessary if and when it gets to crunch time. Working alongside an "experienced & influential producer" will be essential for the show to be successful.

Part of an ideal scenario will also involve "flexibility" regarding who potentially appears on the show. Assumptions about which girls would or would not be prepared to do so is premature at this stage... Obviously there are contracts involved with other companies, which may or may not prove to be a problem. The likely outcome would probably be certain girls jumping at the chance, and others waiting to see if the show proves to be popular.

Whether the show will be on Sky, Freeview or both is undecided... It will be a pay-per-view/subscription channel, but won't involve interactive phone calls with viewers. However, I am working on a few "optional extras" for the viewers...

Naturally, I will have certain "stipulations" for any deal to take place, but that is for some other time...

I'm here to help - if my help's not appreciated then lotsa luck, gentlemen.

Well. That all sounds reasonable enough. I must admit - the 'alternative form of adult entertainment' has certainly piqued my interest. Of course, I will have to wait and see what payment options are available and how much. Hopefully, there'll be an alternative to the whole 'dial up and book' method. I have never had my Sky box connected to my telephone line, and with good reason.

Do you have any idea of what kind of time-line we're looking at?

The only difference between this and what's gone before is that there will potentially be no pre-recorded stuff.

If there are no phone calls there will be no need to broadcast live, so the channel should be pre-recorded.

Well, first things first... The right producer has to be onside with my ideas/planning/direction and basically help set the stage, initiate funding, hire key personnel, get good location(s), etc. I've been in touch with one of the girls and a couple of other people about this...

Regarding payment options... Ideally, as many methods of payment as possible will be available to viewers. I'm looking into something similar to the "Sky Box Office" pay-per-view format, with maybe an optional monthly subscription. A mobile phone payment option has also been mentioned on this thread.

I'm here to help - if my help's not appreciated then lotsa luck, gentlemen.

My original plan was for the show to be live, but I foreseen too many potential issues... For a start there is OFCOM, who would interfere too much with a live show, as it's easier for them to create problems within a live show format. Also, as the show will require more creative planning and direction, it probably would not be logical for this type of show to be live on a daily basis.

I would have liked a live show but will be interested in seeing this alternative form of adult entertainment. As long as it's not another TVX,Playboy type.

What I've taken into account is the current "boredom factor" and general "lack of surprises" with most aspects of British Television...

It won't be like any of the other adult formats... I'm looking to create a "prototype".

What's the good reason?

To be perfectly honest, I've never been too enamoured of Sky, or any other company, making unnecessary phone calls in the name of 'market research'.

As well as that, you can't be too careful with little brothers around. They might get it into their heads that they want to make a purchase over the line.

I've always like the live aspect of the shows. I know that they're heavily regulated, but sometimes, you get the feeling that anything can happen. Unfortunately, no so much now, but its still there on occasion.

Thanks for keeping us posted. I'm getting more and more interested in what you've got planned. And the maximising of payment options is certainly a step in the right direction.

Ah. This is a bit of a downer. But not too much, as the 'alternative form of adult entertainment' has superceded it. I'm looking forwards to seeing what transpires.
