Somerset's win in a relegation battle with Surrey gives them hope of survival.It would be hard to look beyond Derbyshire & Surrey to go down now.

24 hours ago Derby v Durham seemed destined for a draw . Sussex v Yorks ;possible outside chance of a Yorkshire win .Given that Sussex led by only 14runs with 8wickets remaining and a good weather forecast .One day later a deal is struck for Yorkshire to "feed" Sussex the runs to set up a declaration .One wrong weather forecast and a woeful Derbyshire collapse later and the title's as good as in the bag now for Durham .
Only an amazing turnaround in fortune can stop Durham now .27.5points clear and 2 games to go .

It would seem to be a case of double-standards with England making the "rested" Swann & Broad available for the CB40 Final.Yorkshire have already been told that Root will not be available for Yorkshire's final Championship match.He can't be that tired after bowling one over & batting one ball.

I agree that Surrey appears unlikely to avoid the drop as realistically they need to win their last two and hope results go for them. However Derby could be in with a shout (albeit an unlikely one) easily capable of winning their one remaining game at home to Warwicks. Notts have to travel to Durham before facing Somerset (the cider counties last match) at home.

Surrey have 103 from 14 games, Derbyshire 120 from 15 games Notts 132 from 14 games and Somerset 136 from 15 games.

Given that it is 16 points for win plus bowling and batting bonuses of up to 4 each, Derbyshire would need big win in last game to stay up now

^ I do agree it would need to be a big win. The bonus points changed a little while ago:

250 - 299 runs: 2 points
300 - 349 runs: 3 points
350 - 399 runs: 4 points
400 runs or over: 5 points

Bowling
3 to 5 wickets taken: 1 point
6 to 8 wickets taken: 2 points
9 to 10 wickets taken: 3 points

Only from first 110 overs of first innings. Since the change few sides have managed 5 batting points!

150-199 - 1point
200-249 -2points
250-299 -3points
300- -4points

3-4wkts -1point
5-6wkts -2points
7-8wkts -3points
9-10wkts -4points
(Available first 100 overs of 1st innings)
