The Night Manager by John Le Carre, vastly different from the TV miniseries different locations, characters etc. The Jonathan Pine character is superbly drawn and if some of the politics is a bit confusing, the book is a satisfying read. Will read another Le Carre soon but now started another by Victorian author M E Braddon,The Lovels Of Arden

Total Recall by Arnold Schwarzenegger

Although boastful in places as you would probably expect,Schwarzenegger for the most part is refreshingly honest about his indiscretions and his insecurities as he aged and embarked on films such as Terminator 3.Overall a good read featuring some interesting and funny stories from his early days in Austria, competitive bodybuilding and his experiences on location.

Fluke by James Herbert

A less vividly gruesome tale from one of the masters of horror. This time the story is a fantasy tale about a stray dog that somehow remembers that it once lived as a man.

Moon by James Herbert

A superb and very unsettling psychological story about a man whose visions torment and haunt him constantly until he releases that he is seeing things through the eyes of a sadistic killer. The plot has been done to death since but Herbert excels with this type of disturbing horror.
