Took me to last night to find out that Chris Wakelin, and especially Stuart Bingham, were also early casualties from Monday.

Judd whitewashes Joe O'Connor for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. Judd made an over 70 break in every frame capping the match with a break of 100 exactly in the 5th frame. O'Connor had his chances, but the Leicester cueman found it difficult to score a significant amount of points.

Alexander Ursenbacher whitewashed Ali Carter 5-0 SmileSmileBig Grin

Xiao Guodong beat Si Jiahui again. Zhang Anda beat Milkins 5-2. Jak Jones beat Higgins 5-3.Wins also for Hawkins Sad and Kyren Wilson.

There could be a story brewing as World no.84 Hammad Miah leads Robertson 3-1 at the interval.

Thepchaiya Un-Nooh whitewashed Bingham in the last round. I hope he gets a similar result against Tubbs this evening.

Most impressive win for Wu Yize who knocked out Mark Allen 5-4.
Neil Robertson recovered to win a decider while Yuan Sijun got the better of Ross Muir 5-2.

This evening Shaun Murphy claimed a second whitewash win in a row in thrashing Thepchaiya un Nooh while Anthony McGill clinically saw off Luca Brecel 5-2. The dream run for Aaron Hill continues after a comprehensive 5-1 triumph over Jimmy Robertson.

Hero of the evening though was Tom Ford who made his 300th career century in an excellent 5-2 victory over Daniel Wells.

In the last match of the second round to finish it was Elliot Slessor who held his nerve superbly in a deciding frame to knock out Mark Selby with a match clinching break of 94.

There's what I hope reality will be, and there's actual reality and they're not always the same Sad . Anyway,Tubbs has Yuan Sijun next. I don't want to dismiss Yuan's chances before a shot has even been played so...come on Yuan!

I'm a bit disappointed Ursenbacher got Wu Yize in the next round. Giantkillers need to be playing giants, not each other.

Today Ricky Walden had to withdraw for health reasons giving Barry Hawkins a bye into the last eight. Kyren Wilson beat Jak Jones 5-3 in the World Final rematch while Anthony McGill saw off Zhang Anda 5-2. Elliot Slessor could not repeat his form of yesterday and got trounced 5-1 by Xiao Guodong.
Wu Yize got past Alexander Ursenbacher by 5-2.

This evening Judd Trump has been knocked out 5-2 by Neil Robertson. Aaron Hill continues his dream run even further after a fine 5-3 win over Shoot out champion Tom Ford. Yuan Sijun has also claimed a 5-4 success over Shaun Murphy. Some interesting last eight matches in prospect.

Quarter Finals:

Neil Robertson v Yuan Sijun
Wu Yize v Barry Hawkins

Xiao Guodong v Aaron Hill
Kyren Wilson v Anthony McGill

I watched that on Eurosport until it was 4-4, and when Tubbs potted the first red in frame 9, I couldn't watch and switched channels. I saw Yuan's decisive 62 break in the decider on Discovery Plus later.

Today I'm backing Wu Yize to do his giantkilling act on Hawkins.

Pleased for Robbo, he needs good results like that. I shall be hoping Kyren puts paid to the Van Morrison of Snooker.
